Also known as The Morse-Libby House, it was built between 1858-1860 for Ruggles S. Morse. The brownstone building was designed by Henry Austin of New Haven, Connecticut, with sumptuous interiors by Gustave Herter of New York City. A pristine example of Victorian opulence, the house is today a museum.
Lol! Suffer? In the age of Gore-Tex, microfiber fleece and Thinsulate 300? Families being hacked to death with machetes in Africa, now that's suffering!
Hey there's an idea:
"Escape the Maine Winter: Spend a month shooting guerillas in Africa!"
Do you realize how many frustrated deer hunters would sign up for that in a minute?!!
