My boy just bought one of these & they're sick bikes! He almost turned it over on first going into second, or second into third, I forget. Anyways, he almost flipped it going too fast. The engineering that goes into them are great to look at. They've just great bikes.

@MoreLikeCappuccino When you start a superbike which has been made after 2007 one light instantly comes on for safety purposes (It's easier to see a bike with it's lights on).

No point in both of them going on though.

My old man actually died on this model of bike 4 years ago. The light thing helped us big time. We realised the guy hadn't looked before he turned a corner (He lied and said my dad had the lights off)

Without that rule, my mother wouldn't have got any insurance..

There may be a few bikes from Japan that are ever so slightly faster... but not one of them deserves to be in the same showroom with anything made by Ducati. Just like there is no substitute for a REAL Ferrari, there is no substitute for a REAL Ducati. It's like the difference between dating Megan Fox, and dating some girl who happens to have dark hair. The difference between Megan Fox and a Ducati, however, is that you can have a Ducati.

how about aston martin just to give an example? italian vehicles are always way to overpriced.. An audi r8 V10 for instance looks as great as any ferrari, just as fast, and it's 3 times cheaper.. mr. italian fanboy..

Test rode one of these. Best bike I have ever slung a leg over. To answer 2 earlier questions: 1. Gearbox was crunchy, but ONLY going down to first at a stoplight, upper gears no prob. 2. Bak of thighs got a tad warm from exhaust, and I was wearing leathers! Still, not extreme and I recon some of that asbestos tape round pipes wud rectify this problem. One note, I wud spring for the S model over std 1098. Steering damper on std model is NOT adjustable and thus useless. Overall, best bike ever!!

which Ninja? They start at 250cc and go up to 1400cc. The 1098 (1099cc) does 0-60 in 2.5 and has a top speed of 186mph. The Ninja ZX-10R (998cc) does 0-60 in 2.90 and has a top speed of about 180mph. The ZX-14R has the same stats as the Ducati 1098.
