There was a ton of hype surrounding getting to see Lesnar, the "undisputed champion," then he went exclusive to Smackdown. "Ah well," Milwaukee thought. "We still get to see the Undertaker." Then he went exclusive to Smackdown, too. So, we ended up with Triple H being handed a championship.

Remember these matchs you mentioned are all before his first big leg injury. After that his match quality has gone down a bit and that isn't me being a Triple H hater. But his match against Jericho at Wrestlemania 18 wasnt that great and The matchs those two had on raw in 2000 were amazing. Jericho was still there and wasn't injured but H slowed down. Also the match he had with Kane weren't that great either but the matchs they had in 2001 were great. Also he had only 3 good matchs in 2003

Yeah i agree, he had a good long heel run wich made you hate him, but they probably went a bit ott with his title run after a while, you know kept winning it back after barely losing it, even from a smark perspective it got a tad dull after a while, especially round about 2004/5, though in that regard with the departure of austin and rock back in 02 Vince probably felt that Trips was the only legit guy to rebuild the company round.
