  • bands like TG are only now being recognised for what their blue print set out to do!...although saying that, most people making music these days still ain't heard of them...thank god for andy weatherall and the techno bods of that particular time for highlghting TG....oh what a day!.

  • very very good !!!!!!!!!!

  • I wonder how they were allowed to record at a school

  • @fi1123581321 Maybe they told the teachers it was an art history tutorial ;)

  • Im still in shock after Sleazy's passing...

  • The existence of this video made me come in my pants.

  • 1st group I know of to use digital samples. WAY before such technology was commercially available. Peter and Chris built their own equipment. Not always pretty but probably the most influential of all the 1st wave of punk/ new wave artists. they are the real deal-- ART. some of their stuff is BEAUTIFUL--- "Distant Dreams", "Walkabout" " AB/7A" etc.

  • genesis : very friendly !

  • Pure love ... ♥

  • There's is nothing like a bit of Throbbing Gristle during the day, or night... Shame I'm 18, living in Australia, and haven't had the pleasure of seeing them in their early days. The main thing is that I enjoy the sounds they've put out.

  • This was a fantastic concert, my favourite is the version of Do As Your Told at the end, don't know if it's on here, I've got the video

  • TG kicks everyone's ass.

  • Recorded live at Oundle School in Peterborough, England 16th March, 1980. Aside from two school staff, the audience consisted of school boys between the ages of 8 and 16.

  • @renr17 If true, is probably the funniest thing I think I have ever heard.. Imagine playing this stuff to kids, nowadays its some slut in a bikini which isnt at all weird! I tried to get my 10 yr old nephew to listen to very friendly the other day, he wasnt impressed...

  • @merked1980 I know, it's hilarious, the things they did.

It's not too weird, however, since I am only 15 years old. And I enjoy Throbbing Gristle along with many other Industrial artists.

  • @merked1980 On Halloween I put the speakers to the window-tape of TG on repeat-and left for the bar.

  • I love this songs is perfec!!!!!!!

  • tg = genius. ignore Control addicts who have tiny worldview.

  • I don't have tanker boots!

Please go away & just spend some time on stuff you like.

If you don't like TG, OK.

So why stressing all people, who likes it?

Do not go on our nerves, outsider!

  • @nightwatch01 Hes a retard he dont even hatev TG his a troll, simply.. Period

  • Haha, I'm being called a tool by some shallow idiot who actually believes this shit. I guess it's no use arguing with you, perhaps you'll mature some day and realise that there's more to music than what you're told is good. It's not about being an elitist , it's about learning something, about appreciating the workmanship of real artists. You're stuck in some sort of immature phase, but well, most people's got an edgy phase they've got to go through. Keep on being RANDOM XD, Timmy!

  • @ pharod, you are an ignorant douchebag, no I take that back. You are the nozzle.

  • I love /b/tards.

  • Throbbing Gristle: HAY GUYS IMMA BANG ON POTS AND PANS AND GRUNT-SQUEAL FOR TWO HOURS AND CALL IT MUSIC.

  • @PharodWormhair How the fuck can you like Coil and Skinny Puppy, and then say stuff like this? Do you know ANYTHING about industrial? Shit, you stupid fuck.

  • Just because I like Coil and SP I'm obligated to like this rubbish? Why? Maybe you're the stupid fuck, poseur. You remind me of those goth darklings that name drop originators of music genres because they think it gives them goth cred. I listen to music because I like they way certain bands sound, not because they are associated with a genre. If you actually like the sound of TG, you're lying to yourself. Get those delusions checked out because it's a symptom of psychosis.

  • Looking at your favorites I'm going to assume that you go to 4chan, correct? That, and the fact that you're too stupid to appreciate TG, makes me sure of the fact that you're a fourteen-years-old little girl.

And/or a hipster, because only a hipster would try to justify calling TG rubbish with the same old "it's subjective"-tripe. I can understand that you don't "get" them, but saying that they are rubbish shows how stupid and immature you really are.

  • Without TG, Skinny Puppy wouldn't even exist, nor would coil or anything else called industrial. It all comes back to the fact that you're a stupid scenester who only appreciates the "poppier" parts of any genre.

  • @PharodWormhair

Youre so ignorant. Once again, dumbass, saying that TG are shit is not a matter of taste, it shows how little you know about music in general. Please, what the hell has tanker boots and black metal got to do with TG? I know that it's hard to understand, going to 4chan and everything, but if you actually like music you don't limit yourself to just a few genres, nor do you only listen to famous acts.

  • Skinny Puppy most assuredly not, but Coil was pretty much the same time frame. They are quite lagitimate in their own right, forming after all their work with PTv and all.

  • @PharodWormhair That would be fucking genious.

  • this is not industrial this is crappy musicians on a bunch of drugs hanging out on a stage attempting instruments,

  • WHAT THE FUCK

  • I love Genesis!

  • All this tranny stuff...I think he just wanted to be taller...they can do that nowadays...they do it in Asian countries all the time now...if you have the money...I think he could have afford[ed] it...

    LOOK OUT NBA

    GRistle Fo Yo thistle

  • Shit. Horrible, horrible rubbish. I've heard better sounds on the toilet.

Elitist hipster faggot: HURR HURR THIS REEL INDUSTRIAL I PRETEND TO LIKE IT BECAUSE IT MAKES ME LOOK EXCLUSIVE AND UNIQUE. DURRRR

  • Yeah, no, enjoy your NIN and Combichrist, kiddy.

  • Agreed, go listen to some Boyd Rice and SPK before you try to tell us what real industrial is.

  • Do you see NIN or Combichrist in my favorites, faggot? This shit HORRIBLE. It is not music! It is SHITE. What in the fuck is wrong with you?!

  • It's Industrial. It's Noise. Post-Music. Post-Human. Beyond.

  • Amen

  • @Komatzu

So you need acid to get it?

  • Gran cancion!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great version of this song, loved it. Had absolutely nothing to do wae Gen`s bum looking dash good in those trousers, mind.. ;)

  • Cant believe I was in the audience at this ! I was about 14 !!!!!!!!!!

  • I am 14. All I have to say, is that you are extremely lucky to had seen them live in this period!

  • I wonder if Bruce Dickinson is in the audience.

  • Bruce Dickinson should take vocal lessons from this guy...no seriously

  • Genesis P-Orridge is not a guy.

  • Umm yes it is a guy.

  • Your right Genesis P-Orridge is a guy. My apologies.

  • he was a guy but now hes trans gender

  • But he seeks to be *pan*gender

Really, he was trying to be a tranny...

I guess he didn't know they already existed, i.e. it had already been done, in a manner of speaking...

..the 'old fashioned way' I guess, but not the way he's done it...kudos, GPO

  • @karikolada not true, Gen still considers himself male, he was getting those surgeries in effort to become one with his late wife, they had this interesting notion about a "pangendered" being.

You should read one of his interviews about it, he certainly explains it better himself.

That being said, he's got great tits.

  • but i looks like a gay :S

  • So you haven't been a fan very long eh?

  • yes you are correct. but i am now.

  • What album would you recommend?

  • D.O.A. is a good start....

  • The Mission of Dead Souls, Assume Power Focus, and the First annual Report

  • funnily enough when I was at Sussex Uni I was lined up to be the next TG singer, but my bronchitis cleared up and was no longer qualified

  • destroys everything

  • didnt think oundle would be into bands like this hehe

  • Van Der Graaf Generator who the most way-out band of my generation were actually AT Oundle

  • shows what i know then hehe couldnt picture them going to oundle hahaha

  • bast band ever

  • Awesome track indeed, its so rhytmic unless there other work(s)!!!

  • the most gretaful band on the earth

  • Shiny shiny fucking pants..

  • You're spamming TG videos all over the place!

Grrr...f0o! I'm glad that you've already been spammed.

Someone who posts this crap deserves to be slapped!

  • chill the fuck out it wasnt even me like whats up your ass

  • Well, I was somewhat kidding, but...whatever you say.

I think that your responses are kind of funny, seeing how they never really fit together. It was you--if this screen name is correct--and you responded,

    But okay. :P

  • what is going on?

  • No band in the world today has the balls to make the music that Throbbing Gristle did. They are still cutting edge and for the future.Kaiser Chiefs can go stick their crap up their a**e.Heathen Earth!

  • @AZUREGLIDE ah you're talking stupidities.

  • @AZUREGLIDE There are TONS of bands. You're just not looking hard enough.

  • @cartoonist2000 Agreed. The 'bands nowadays are crap' argument is bollocks. You get old farts saying music was better in 'their' day even with stuff like this.

  • amaxxing

  • Was it white and sticky?

  • Well, I don't know what it was..

  • onon?

  • The Cassandra Complex did a great cover version of this classic TG track.

  • love this song

  • Definatley saw an eye with a top hat on it, on the picture within the picture, which means it's a Residents eye.

  • That's something else.

  • @ Captainshitto

    Bumming a dog????

    What does that mean?

  • you heard wrong shittononyourmom

  • haha! ryhmes

  • so whats goin on again? lol noise and more noise...nice

  • could have done without the kids. Those are real people. bad idea.

  • One of few pieces that still sounds right (in my ears) now (and still somewhat typical).

  • and "den vita stenen" was by the way hippieinflueced sjit, i hate it when i was a kid

  • great tune..but how did the swedish childtv program "den vita stenen" appear in genesis face and the rest? strange is the word

  • that is good response...only the person who recorded this would know.. :)

  • In response to OnTheRazorsEdge. I am very ashamed of what I said about Cosey, very very ashamed. And I apologize sincerely. Can I take Genesis home instead, and get him out of those black leather pants? Would that be ok? Perhaps I could take them both home.

  • No, sorry. You can´t have them! Because ... their mine. I will take them both and do what I want with them...

  • I would like to sign up to be a wanker I would like to take Cosey Fannie Tutti home for the evening and get her out of that black leather skirt perhaps she could do things to me I feel like that kid in the audience who looks like he has lost the last of his marbles and if it's white and sticky and if it's white and sticky

  • First off, shame on you for thinking those thoughts about a member of TG. Secondly, shame on you for thinking that about Gen's ex. Thirdly, shame on you for thinking that about Chris's lover. Finally, she is now less attractive than Gen.

    Seriously.

Oundle school was a fucking awesome gig.

  • she is strangley

  • where u there? i go to oundle school! how did it happen?

  • "Are there any wankers in here?"

  • genial

  • Woa! Das ist so übelst geil! ich krieg n anfall^^

  • actually they were about as far away from the hippy movement as possible, they were pure punk in a non punk outfit.

  • "Pure punk"?It may appear to be so BUT these people were children of the hippy movement and still today, big parts of Genesis P Orridges record collection actually contains 60s folk-psych stuff. The world is more complex than people think, let´s face it...

  • People like UK's COUM Transmissions, Germany's Kommune 1, and America's Up Against The Wall Motherf--er, etc. are parts of the "hippy era" conveniently swept under the rug, since they interfere with a cohesive marketing plan of bell-bottoms and peace signs. "Dangerous ideas were invented by this generation" is the lie told to gullible youngsters.

  • Genesis P. Orridge is Pure True Will! (are you happy? are you really, really happy?)

  • is that the same as good will hunting with matt damon?

  • do you have tits and a penis as well? flag it i guess

  • ages ago genesis was my guru - why? - maybe because he was the wildest and he didn't care - he didn't try to please the audience as much as other musicians - and a dark hidden part in me resonated - yeah this darkness and liberty is in me - now i dont have a guru anymore - thank you genesis - i love you

  • terminatortiger - I have exactly the same thoughts on TG and GPO in particular; they changed my world around 78-80 or so. Even though you grow and move on, you still can`t quite shake thee dark thoughts they brand you with. Truly "marching music for psykick youth"

  • genesis p. orridge i fucking love you

  • playing something came over me in front of an audience made up of youngboys aged between 8 to 16 is deliciously perverse.

  • Boys between the ages of 13 and 18. ( J'étais un élève à Oundle school) .....and the boys themselves chose the groups and were (and still are) passionate about music in every category. (Cette école est maintenant mixte)

  • merci pour ces précisions. I have actually found that in Simon Ford's book about TG. "According to Tutti", he wrote, "a boarder at the school, Nigel Jacklin, had convinced his music teacher to book TG, who sounded, Nigel said mischievously, like John Cage".

  • Ah ça c'est drôle! Quand j'étais élève Oundle School a accueilli Magma, Arthur Brown, Genesis (avec Peter Gabriel) Camel, Wild Turkey etc etc . Il y a un mois seulement j'ai découvert qu'un pote de classe était chanteur de Iron Maiden depuis 1981 !

  • I remember Nigel in Carter's art class making screen prints for posters for the gig, I was almost 13. Monte Cazazza walked off stage in tears after getting bog rolls chucked at him, I don't think the mainly toff audience quite got it. Actually a better gig was just school bands, one playing a good version of Garageland and Psycadelic Furs covers where the Lynch brothers and mates turned up from Thrapston for some class war and rushed the stage getting after an evo session,...

  • ..., fought off by the jocks and their swimming teacher, top fun. I only realised today that Cosey Fanni Tutti playing with TG was the same Cosey Fanni Tutti that I was tossing off over at the time in Playbirds magazine, small world.

  • The bog rolls sequence is one of the highlights of this gig. Funny to see how GPO managed to use the audience's anger or frenzy. Always controling things.

  • Hahahh. Think I remember the issue. Remember the gig too. Preferred Dangerous Girls (supporting Diamond Head). Think I can work out who you are with a user name like that!

  • You saw Dangerous Girls!!! What was it like? When I got "The Humans" comp and heard "Step Out", I made a boom-boom in my pants.

  • how mischievous...........

  • Wasn't this the one that ended in a riot because the administration didn't know what kind of act TG was? Classic. Almost as good as playing from an iron cage suspended from the ceiling.

  • I remember seeing this video in my friend's basement back in the mid-80's. He told me that they were playing a reform school for boys. Cool video!

  • Not a reform school at all but definitely one of England's best private/public schools. ......founded in 1556 . I was a pupil there!

  • Yeah, you're right. They even have a Wikipedia page.

  • thanks for this vid. love throbbing gristle, cosi, genesis, chris cater ALL have any nurse with wound vids or current 93 would really like to see some of them too

    five stars

  • Thanks! Your wish is my command! You´ll soon be able to see another fine old excerpt from TG at YouTube, The World Is A War Film, also from the Live at Oundle School performance. Interesting for the special recorded movie footage showing TG in camouflage outfit and outdoors. Enjoy!

  • THANKS SO VERY MUCH. I can't wait. you are so kind so share this rare gristle stuff. have been a fan of them ALL since they first came out with their intense "industrial" stuff. at least that is what they called it then. turns out it was adavanced beyond belief. THANKS AGAIN! you are the best.

    take care
