i think neil was at his best before he started getting tips from Freddie Gruber (rip). of course at that time Neil was quite a bit older, but he seemed to lose some of his fluidity when he got with Freddie. Again, age might be a factor. But Neil is the Master bar none.

Neil said that due to time constraints on the and "tape"...he originally didn't want to put the solo on at all, but Lerxst and Dirk insisted. So, he edited it himself to include only the new parts different from the Power Windows tour solo.

I would recommend avoiding original simmons pads. Neil dumped them because they are like playing concrete, and they were unreliable. It's better to use modern pintech, yamaha, hart dynamics or roland. Even the roland td-3 kit is far more capable and reliable than simmons. I do miss the cool looking red hexagon pads.

Not to mention, before playing a show, he locks himself in a room backstage with a practice kit and plays like this for 20-30 min. to warm up!!! This man is beyond words!!!!!

This latest tour, during the electronic section, the sentiment is somewhat like a child. Not in a good way, but in a silly way. The melody he plays on the vibes is goofy.
