how do you know when there ripe? ive been eating these alot and i dont even know if there ready to eat! and when do they go out of season?

A friend of mine cuts hers in a bowl under water so she doesn't end up getting it all over her and the kitchen. Kids with Pomegrantes! Heh, messy! Yes, they are tasty!
