@iCavy you just need to make the side's higher so your guinea pig won't climb up on the sides. Plus, this product goes over the edge of it anyway.

I just change them when I change the little dudes litter boxes and potty pads.

@devilsfan964 This is just my opinion but for me, my guinea pigs bedding starts to smell by day 5 and it goes downhill pretty quick. So I've started changing it every 5 days so I'm not going as crazy from the smell. Baking soda helps allot too.
