why didnt the first car of the first train not have an airconditioner thing on top?

Because it's a Silverliner II. I don't think they're AC's anyway, but that's one of the ways you can tell the difference between the IIs and the IVs.

it's a different type of car than the others, it's a silverliner II and the others are silverliner IV's built different years and by different companies

The old cars don't have any AC.
