In 1989-90 an injured Larry Bird still had crazy nice numbers. 24.3 PPG, 9.5 RPG, and 7.5 APG? that's crazy as hell. He came off a surgery from last season and had to sit out and had terrible back problems, yet he shows his mastery and love of the game.

I remember how in the end, Bird was actually followed while going for a 3pointer with the Celtics down by 3 with about 15 ticks left and uncharacteristically, Bird made only 2 of 3 free throws. The last seconds were a foul shooting game.

Almost 20 years ago, but I remember a lot of these details since it was such a great and memorable game even though it was not a playoff game but a regular season game.

@MerkinMuffly Those Bulls victories come with NBA expansion, Bird in '92 wasn't the Bird of the mid 80's, the pieces around Jordan (Pippen, Grant, Armstrong, Paxson) were on less mileage the Parish, McHale, not to mention Bagley and Brian Shaw isn't exactly Maxwell and DJ. I'm a Magic/Bird fan myself. I'd personally like to see either the "87 Lakers, '86 Celtics or '83 76ers for that matter play the '90's Bulls, since I constantly find myself saying the 72-10 Bulls are not the best team ever
