Favorite items, then assign them to the 1-8 keys to switch on the fly. Press a button twice to get a spell into the right hand. Ex: 2 assigned to flames, 1 to healing - press 2 twice then 1 once to get flames in right hand and healing in left.

In less than an hour, you managed to alienate the entire hold of Whiterun, anger the Empire, killed some bandits, and raided a tomb.
