  • Muito bom, mais muito bom mesmo ! BRAZIL

  • Aqui no brazil paguei por um , cerca de ( 10 Mil Réais) muito bom, mais muito bom mesmo !

  • the Korg sounds GREAT! Now, let's hear the Moog LP that you have stacked on top of the Korg ;)

  • @1980sCoverband If you check my channel, you will find a bunch of Moog LP videos! :)

  • is it still in working order, despite being about 40 years old?

  • @jackspic3 Yes, it was in perfect working order.

  • @jackspic3 I found one of these in the garbage, everything still works, some of the sliders are scratchy but im sure some contact cleaner would clear that up.

  • this time last year I would be asking anyone selling one of these to sell me theres for anything upto £1000, thanks to the credit crunch I can only offer upto £150 now lol that's all I can spend on synths and studio gear at the moment, should pick up soon but for now I'm pretty poor lol anyone generous out there get in touch lol :) nice demo keybdwizrd :)

  • Yess, I scored one in mint condition for only 400€(500$). But they a more rare than a MS20. And I'm not sad to sell the MS20, it somekinda sounded nasty compared to the minikorg and there are functions on the MS20 I never used...

  • Beautiful! I just don't understand why this synth only got a two out of five star rating from VSE. Well it just goes to show that there are a lot of deaf peole out there, I guess.

  • @dudewhosaysarrh the VSE review of this synth is god awful, whoever wrote it is a jerk.

  • I want a synthesizer!!!

  • @LinSauschuck11 Be careful what you whish for, those things are addictive. I started out with one little synth a few years back to complement my guitar sound and to create backings, now I suddenly got five of them.... but they are modern vitrual analog machnies. Im still hunting for affordable true analog vintage models.

  • I. Want. One. Nice demo!

  • @chaosIsTheOnlyPower Thank you!

  • Love the video. Thanks for that.

I've only had my 700s for a couple of weeks, but already I've fallen. I used last week with some friends. Nobody laughed when they heard the sound that was coming out of it. I've run it through a digital delay, phaser and a tape echo. wow. That said, it sounds amazing with no fx too. I will always love my Prophet 5 & Korg MS20, but this synth has become my new mistress.

  • What percentage of these sounds were created by the minikorg 700 itself?

Everything EXCEPT the echo (and beatbox) or even less than that?

  • The solo synthesizer stuff at the beginning and end is just MiniKorg 700s with echo and/or reverb. Concerning the little tune in the middle, there's a graphic that explains it at 0:56.

  • Yeah!!!!!

    Good stuff.

If you ever wanna sell this thing, call me.

    We'll do lunch.

  • This thing is so old school

  • so is the last model of microkorg

  • yeah i have one it is old school

  • Very nice for sure. Never heard of a "traveller filter", though.

  • What tune are you playing at 01:00 ?

  • The sweet sound of Vintage Analog!

  • love the traveller filter sound of the 700s

    Nice demo!

  • You are a grand keyboard wizard!

  • Thank you!

  • Great video!

I have this same thing but am wondering what are the controls on the top left?

    Mines does not have those.

    JB

  • This is the 700s, the top left panel features a selector for ring modulator.. 2 types, chorus I think - 2 types.. (pwm maybe) sliders for oscilator 2 pitch and.. volume? and switches for.. erm.. I cant remember, but one was for sustain (actually release) which multipled the release by up to 10. The other may have been as osc 2 on off? I had hours and hours of fun on a 700 s. Now I got me a minimoog voyager os!!

  • Think I remember what the 3rd switch was - traveller vibrato maybe (filter mod)??

  • I had one of these back in 1977... great value.. great fun.. cheesey in the extreme though.

  • cheese

  • It's fantastic! Please tell me how did you get this very good sound? It's only the Lexicon that makes it or some tricks of mixing? Amazing really. I want my syths to sound this, but I don't have any clue how to do it. I liked very much this vid! Thanks!

  • Been looking for a 700s...I think you outbid me on ebay. Not many of us can make it sing like the keyboard wizard but love to try. This is the first demo that made me want it more than when I saw Kitaro grooving on one. Not a must have but sweet synth. BTW for other, the 700 and 700s are two different machines. Get the 700s/korg or univox k2 I think. I will get one some day. You got a good one wizard. -- Sam Utah

  • that section with the guitar and drums and everything sounds like the music from an educational science vid from high school hehehe

  • This is a good demonstration of how good this highly under-rated synth actually sounds! That's why I have 4 of them... :-)

I can't detect any faking here at all!

  • Holy Moley! If you say so Drummelskrudd, that is GOOD enough for me! I apologize to keybdwizrd for my skepticism and ignorance. For sure I will NOT be selling my Minikorg 700s on Ebay now. I guess putting an old synth like this through a digital effx like a lexicon sure does wonders for it doesn't it?

    :)

  • Well...any effect really :-). The addition of a spacial effect or the like makes a huge difference in how we perceive sounds for sure. But these old machines are really great in their own way...I finally got a Korg M500 micro-preset which has some of the same sounds but less editable. 2 of the Korg35 filters.

  • can u sell me one of your minikorg 700s

  • dude... you gotta be joking. this keyboard wizard is legit. he can f'in play. you're getting faked out yrself from the m200 FX that he's using (delays, etc). he clearly stated that he was adding fx to this synth.

  • errr....well you noticed that this video is splitted into little ones? So he programmed it between the cuts. The Sliders in front affect the filter settings yes...but on this different sounds.

A little delay is added whith external effects. And you think this sound digital? Well....clean your ears! ;)

  • Actually, that's incorrect. I recreated most of the sounds this man created on my Minikorg using the same methods. He's legit.

  • I have the Minikorg 700 (not 700s) here and those sounds are absolutely legit, I can assure you. This is what this synth sounds like with effects, of course.

    It's a nice synth, highly recommended !

  • Great vintage synthesizer... That must have been expensive to buy or what??? Never heard of that synth from Korg... Saw your comment about soft synths, and I must say I do agree to you when you say that using and programming all the parameters and knobs make it all a bit

  • I bought the MiniKorg on eBay for about $400.

  • Sweet. Do you know if there are many synths for sale on eBay??? Maybe I should join in just to see all the good synths and other equipments. Maybe I'll find something good there. Thanks for the info...

  • At any given point there are hundreds of synths for sale on eBay.

  • Great! Now you just inflated the price of those things for God knows how long! ;)

  • We could give you a horrible little Casiotone with batteries and small internal speakers, and you'd still be able to make a kick-butt video like this. Excellent as always.

  • That made me laugh, but it's a helluva compliment. I don't think it's exactly true, but the sentiment is appreciated. Thank you very much!

  • The MiniKorg 700 is the first synth I ever played, back around 1973 (I was about 15 years old then). A friend had one, and I used it in a band during high school. I hadn't even seen a MiniKorg in 30+ years until this one, which I just bought on eBay, arrived at my house a few days ago. It's cool!

  • Wow, that's a lovely analogue sound. I always disregarded this instrument as toy-ish, but now I'm eating my words.

  • How come analogue sound technology only gets better back in time ?

  • that thing is a beast! love the unique interface on it too.

  • Absolutely Brilliant! I bought a Virus Ti Polar a couple of weeks ago, purely on the demo's that you have done. It's clear that you have a huge passion for Analogue gear and modelled synths, what is your opinion on Soft Synths?

What would be great is if you did tutorials on Synthesis...I'd even pay and subscribe to this...it's one thing reading it in a Book or Magazine, but different when you can see it with your own eyes!

You're a star...Now going through some of your other videos.

  • Thanks for the kind words.

To date, I am not a huge fan of softsynths, although I own quite a few. It's not that they don't sound good... I am generally too lazy to program controllers to interact with them and always forget what knob does what when I do. And maybe I'll get more involved with them when I upgrade to a faster computer someday.
