  • That is a great Billy F Gibbons riff. Bending that first note isn't easy to get smooth.

    Cool riffage buddy.

  • good damn your good

  • Killer accent.

And I would killlllll to see Buddy Guy and Junior Wells.

    Nice axe, too.

  • Thanks, I just about got the hang of it now. Thats a handy little lick :-)

  • Great cool lick. Billy Gibbons does a lot of this stuff too (possibly where Dicky got it from??)

Great to see another person putting out his knowledge for people to learn. I would LOVE more lessons about anything you're willing to share. I bet you have tonnes of great stuff from all your experience.

Thanks for the lesson and hopefully a thanks in advance for future lessons!

  • Mr. Hilbert:

    You are a protean bluesman.

    ~Jessdog

  • gotta try this right now lol

  • That little riff has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen (on the guitar that is).

  • I was wondering about the paper under the nut, but it was answered, lol. Very cool Dicky riff. I got to meet him..a couple times. keep it coming bro

  • Hi Charlie thanks for the lesson : ) Great guitar and shirt. Look forward to more from ya' Cheers, ~Mary Win :)

  • Very good guitar work. Tell me, and this is a peavey question, can I swap the tone and volume controls? I keep inadvertantly moving my volume. Adam sent me this movie. I am a big fan of the harp AND guitar. See me at "Learn harmonica by ear" if you get a chance. Thanks for the movie. NTJ

  • Probably, but don't. You just gave me a great idea for my next lesson. Volume control stuff. Thanks- CH

  • Charlie,

Pretty cool stuff. I can't wait to try it out.

BTW - What was that thing on the A & E strings at the nut? Is that a special nut or what?

Thanks for sharing this and ...

    Jam On!

    -BB

  • It's just a piece of paper that I put under the nut, 'cause it's just a cheap nut and got worn down. If the paper is not there, the string buzzes. Thanks for asking; and thanks for watching. Let me know if there's anything else I might be able to do for a lesson. - CH

  • Hi Mr. Hilbert,

Have enjoyed your work with Adam Gussow! I'm a harp player and a hopeless guitarist, but I look forward to your lessons... though I'd better not take on another obsession...

  • Thanks for that
