The Garden of Eden was not Earth but only represented Earth symbolically. After Adam and Eve sinned, God cast them out of the Garden. If the Garden was Earth that would meant that he cast them out into space. Also, "knowledge" here doesn't mean "educated". It means "practiced".

the Catholic Church is largely responsible for the "dark ages". The Catholics kept the majority of the population illiterate. The Christian church burned thousands of humans in Europe for not following church guidelines, for being witches, and for blasphemy. The Christians would not allow scientific discoveries to be revealed if they did not adhere to biblical teachings. During the 1400's Europe was going thru the Renaissance, when people began to question the old ways. (Renaissance means "rebirth"). The Industrial Revolution occurred in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Dark Ages (with the Catholic Church in control) happened between the end of the Roman Empire, and the beginning of the 1400's. I teach history at the university level. actually I did look into that. Jesus does not appear in a single important document outside the bible. Not a single historian of the times, mentions Jesus. There are no Government documents that include Jesus. The bible itself was not written until decades after Jesus died, and in some cases, the bible is not written by eye-witnesses. The canonical bible was not assembled until the year 390AD. The is not a single piece of evidence to support a person named Jesus walked the earth

Pliny was the Governor of Bithynia in Asia Minor (AD. 112). He was responsible for executing Christians for not worshipping or bowing down to a statue of the emperor Trajan. In a letter to the emperor Trajan, he describes how the people on trial for being Christians would describe how they sang songs to Christ because he was a god.

You answered your own question. During the times of Jesus Christ, there were hundreds of people who were historians in that area. Yet, while Jesus was performing miracle after miracle and even dying and coming back from the dead, not a single historian living in that area, and at that time, makes even the SLIGHTEST mention of him by name. WHY IS THAT? Because Jesus was not a god or prophet, because Jesus could not perform miracles.
