I'm not suprised I always wonered why Africa seemed to lack any place in history. I always chalked it up to the europeans inability to trade with them because of their ancient sea vessels that couldn't sail to the heart of Africa and the North Africans being unable to traverse the Sahara gather information and come back through the Sahara in unknown unmarked territory. To build a basic stone fort seems easy now I know anyone could have done it.
