This was me. It wasn't a real World Record Attempt. Main purpose was to inspire other people to have a go... whether it's 'wow, that was good, I'll have a go'. Or 'that was lame, I can do better, I'm gonna go have a go'. I'll have another go sometime soon when the wind get's up, go for the big 10 seconds!!!
i think a driver disc could fly longer than that. on a downslope drive with good wind, i can get my ESP Surge to fly for at least 7.5-8 seconds and that's horizontal flight
Linguistisch, Obviously you don't know the rules of MTA. For the time to count the disc must be caught by the thrower, cleanly and with one hand. Seven seconds is kinda lame. Last week I threw 8.29 and I suck. Same Kaye threw a 13.06 at the US Open last week and Jack Cooksey a 12.99. The MTA record was set by Don "Sauce" Cain in 1984 at Warwick County Park. I talked with Sauce last week at the US Open.

This is great and all but you're throwing an Ultimate style disc without much weight and huge flanges that keep it aloft. Try a disc golf driver. With a proper drive and ~175g disc you can easily get 7 seconds and that's cutting the air virtually horizontally from the ground before it eventually drops as opposed to throwing it up in a hyzer throw and letting it cut back towards you. Throw that disc straight out with any conviction and see if you count 7 seconds. That would be something.

The trick is that the disc has to be caught to count.

160g skystyler wont do the record...I think we need a fastback(100g) and a stormy day...16.72 is huge result

Fastback would do you much better in my opinion. I would use the 165 mold for Run Throw Catch though.
Back in my Ultimate days I could get around 10 seconds. But that was counting 1 1000 2 1000 3 1000.
In Run Throw and Catch I could do about 75 yards max. At the time I could throw a 165 about 100yds.

Caught it? How do you catch your own thrown frisbee that's been flying away from you for about 6 seconds?
Cool!

Record for MTA is 16.72 set back in 1988. It was set with a fastback which is normally used for MTA.
8 seconds is pretty good.
