loved loved loved it! so earthy and soulful. and great work with the pot - I dance with a balas fellahin style and what you Amina did here is hard work! Great job!
Love it! My teacher was teaching us a little bit of Tunisian dance one night but the other girls wanted to do more contemporary stuff :0( I love folkloric dances. I like anything that is organic to an existing culture. The Tunisian style is so cool ;0)
The artist who performed this dance did not claim to be taditional Tunisian dancer. The perfomance was interpretive. Coming from a culture not of Tunisia, I wanted to celebrate all cultures in this show. Please take it as a compliment that I admire the art and did my best to research with out a traditional teacher. Layla Hadad was my teacher, but in workshops. I am trained in other dance forms. The performance is an ex pression or my appreciation. Blessings in dance-Amina
I am sorry but Fusion is often a term to describe taking something just fine and make a mess out of it . Music is great but at least 2 dancers is much better , I am sure she is sweet but she needs some technic , I dont blame her this dance is exhausting , more than any other
yeh she is so wearing a pheran (kashmiri). the dance is kashmiri too, not the rouf, but kashmiri nonetheless. But to arabic music o_O a confused performance really, as kashmiris have nothing to do with arab culture/language. They'r similar to afghan/tajiks
It looks like she has little space to move. She does lend grace and beauty to the dance. Her technique is right on. I enjoyed it along with the costume
Saw this on DBQ today... very nice, and I especially love her graceful arms and hands!

Stop critisizing it! Just watch and enjoy it! You prove nothing by tearing others down.

I dare to agree its a little tame...not as powerful as I've seen from people back home. but nice to see it recognized.
