@jonohutton89 Everyone on my dad's side of the family is from Liverpool, and has a scouce accent. My dad has lost it after living elsewhere for years, but when his family visits he picks it back up again and I can't understand a word anyone in the house says.
@OlirockCP There are many more than that: Scousers. Mancunians. Geordies. Brummies. Welsh coal miners. Scottish pup crawlers. Indians who are proud to be British. Public school chaps. (Steven Fry) James Herriot farmers Chavs. Lancashire hot pot, " Eee, missus, I'll have a pie and a pint, eh what?" Lucinda Prior Palmer John Peel Jeremy Clarkson Amy Pond Bill Odie Spike Milligan Pearly Kings and Queens Old Liverpudlian (Sir Paul) New Liverpudlian (John Bishop) Anybody named Quentin.

For fuck's sake, under these lacklustre guidelines, regarded in the right way anything is ironic. There is no way that the lawyer thing was irony. That was what was supposed to happen apparently. The lawyer just didn't think about what might happen after he took the fatal wound. It's either suicidal or profoundly thick but not even slightly ironic.
@DaneEVA The lawyer was trying to convince a jury that the gun would have gone off by accident. While re-acting the bar struggle his client was in, he accidentally shot himself.

@loravine OMG! I'm really excited because you may have just found an irony paradox! The song is not ironic which makes it ironic but the content is not ironic, ironically... etc, etc! It's a perpetual incongruency, making it a paradox! What do you think?
So if someone were to say something like "Ironically, he wasn't there..", which isn't ironic, then that means the fact they were trying to be ironic and were completely unironic would make it ironic? *Scratches head* :o
I can't believe Stephen said comlubo was his favourite series ever because its a detective series just like Jonathon creek, a detective shoe! hahaaaa HOW IRONIC!
Loved it when he mentioned Oedipus :L I'm doing it for A level and the extent of my analysis of the play was "it's all so ironic!" :') I couldn't think of anything else lol

But wasn't he just in the news a few months back talking about how he wished he weren't in such an awkward position when Abu Ghraib reminded him of a concentration camp?
Where the FUCK is John Bishop from? His accent is amongst the most annoying I've heard from England.

@AshtonPhoto Potentially yes. Depends on your opinion

@theycallmefibb Liverpool, and yes it is the most annoying accent in england the butt of many jokes, its hard to find anyone who likes it.

@theycallmefibb There's four type of people in Britain.
1. No Accent
2. Accent from 'Darn Sarf'
3. Accent from 'Oop North'
4. The Liverpool Accent.
Bishop falls into the latter.

@ChartreuseDan it would have been ironic if he was trying to DISprove the theory...

I don't understand how the lawyer shooting himself is ironic. Surely the gun going off is exactly what you would expect to happen, not the opposite?

@DaneEVA the person he was defending had previously been acquitted.

isn't it ironic that the alanis morissette song doesn't really have any good cases of irony?

@bce02 Exactly, everytime the song plays in the radio, i go "nope, nope, nope, that's not ironic Alanis dear".
