Looks great and runs smooth. I can't wait for someone to finish up a proper minecraft clone. I love minecraft, but there are many things that could be done a little differentely.
are you going to be selling this? I've been looking for a place to get a block rendering engine such as this to use in a FOSS game. if this will be FOSS (which looking at your work so far and guessing at it's marketability I doubt) then I'd love to use it. if not - well, good luck selling it! :)

Trying to polish up a game that gets its strength from gameplay, not graphics is totally retarded.. It's totally retarded imho: people who want nice graphics alone don't want to play Minecraft in the first place.. and even if they're converted, they will soo forget about the low resolution textures... but hey, do what you like.. I'm not going to stop you :)
@cappie2000 That's true. The thing that minecraft has about it's style, is that the pixelated/block concept is consistent. Not only is everything in big blocks, but the textures, the UI and the players are also pixelated. It all fits very well together.
I'm not saying this engine is not good. It's cool. But it's true that it's a bit odd with high res textures on cubes like that.

ps, the engine is cool, but going the minecraft way isn't it.. he should focus on building something different with this than yet another minecraft clone; it'll always be a ripoff, and judging by this engine, Slaihne12 can do so much more...

Hi there. I'm currently working on getting this display engine working as well as i can. I want to try to incorporate some various types of gameplay into the Minecraft type world over and above the sandbox style of play. I also intend to do a multiplayer type set up but want to try and avoid some of the griefing that goes on within SMP.
