It's quite easy once you get the hang of it.You have to hit the frets hard and pull off as well. look up the tab and just go through it slowly. Your fingers on your right hand will harden like your left eventually.

I've been playing guitar for 6 years, acoustic specifically for 3-4.

DADGAD isn't actually that odd a tuning at all, as far as alternate ones go. It's used a looot in Celtic-style music, and people like Laurence Juber and Pierre Bensusan use it the whole damn time. Really fun to play and write in, though. Thanks for the comment.

Ahhh, yes I know I play it much faster than Justin does, but that's because its more fun that way! Haha, it's all gravy. You have to practice tapping on acoustic for quite a long time before your fingers even start becoming strong enough for it to be worthwhile, yeah. I'm sure DADGAD helps to a certain extent, but not massively. It's still nothing like electric tapping.

Advice: SLOW it down. Speed isn't everything. Get the MP3 version of the song, which is called Phunkdfied, and listen. Here's a helpful interview about the insane triplet-hand movement thing that he does, which helps: http://www.skinnydevil.com/aco­ustic-concepts.html (at the bottom). You have to really practice it and mess around with letting your hand flop around back and forth, in different places, til you find what's right. It takes a while, and persistence. But you'll get it.
