  • I love the scene where Joey Tai gives this speech about 5000 years of chinese history and Stanley White says"F*ck You, you're too impressed with yourself!, this is America it's 200 years old so you're gonna obey the law!" Some of Mickey's best work!

  • if you get a shot of a 357 in the chest u die.u dont keep talking

  • if you get a shot of a 357 nin the chest u die.u dont keep talking

  • I saw This as a kid in the movies, And again on DVD The chinese were saying that it was a racist shot at the chinese community, However, it was good film, Plenty of action, and a good story Line, I Think they should have gave the film More credit

  • Most people don't seem to remember that on its release this superb movie was completely engulfed in a storm of allegations of racism. Critics, fearing for their professional lives, ignored the fact that this was truly fantastic movie and tore into it. They hinged most of their criticism on the truly awful performance of M.T.A. Ariane. Yes, she was a perfectly dreadful actress but since when does the performance of one actress ruin an otherwise solid motion picture?

  • @RAIDERS58th godfather 3

  • @TOBAL83 That was not entirely Sofia's fault (although it was partly)

  • A great and underrated movie.

  • That movie got the golden raspberry five times!!!!!!

I think I don`t have to tell more to show corruption and foul compromises into film business!! Critics are not written by professionals...they are done by people who are PAID for their oppinion!!!

  • 3:08 That showdown on the bridge should have written movie history. It has this "immortal character" like "The third man" or "French Connection".

Well, thinking about it, the whole movie does!

  • I was born in the year of the dragon

  • @brizzlestick kuhkulkahn4u!

  • @jutubaeh say what?

  • woah the 1st ever desert eagle showdown in movies haha

  • @szewei85 you make a good point. But if this handgun were to be that powerful, wouldnt his hand be into pieces? 0_o

  • Comment removed

  • @Verd1m5 haha since i barely play with guns b4,,,i dont know but shotgun shot will surely cripple the hand let alone human head lolz

  • Great, bloody, brutal, controversial but unfortunately so truthful movie.

Mickey Rourke, John Lone, Caroline Kava did a great job.

I miss old good the 80's

  • 1:47 see if you can make out HIGH PITCHED scream Mickey let's out!!!! LOL! It's much louder on the VHS. I

  • yeah. is a noir end in my opinion. the desert eagle takes it out a bit the noir sense.

  • Intense. Rourke lists Cimino among his most admired directors. He has great taste and is an actor to be respected. Lone was an awesome foil as well. Kudos. Thanks for posting.

  • If Joey were smart he wouldn't have turned the gun around and shot White instead of himself, hehe.

  • ever notice how it was like joey tai was on his way to death when he was running into the light? and mickey almost got hit by the train

  • 1:40 always makes me laugh my ass off

  • It's all about hate. It's only one of us will get outa here alive because the world is too small a place for the two of us.

  • I like this film, & we all know movies often don't make total sense. Even considering this fact, it's very difficult to explain why Joey Tai doesn't simply continue to run after the train has passed, and Mickey Rourke is WAY behind him. Is it because he figures that no matter where he goes Stanley is so relentless he'll inevitably find him no matter what, and so the problem needs to be solved permanently? Is it a macho thing? Someone please comment on this if you have an opinion.

  • Samurai code...maybe... turn and fight...die heroically

  • as far as total sense..? Mickey shoots Joey left handed in the legs and chest....

  • After the 1st train passed Joey Tai did keep running but there was a second train coming. That's why Joey came back and faced off with White.

  • Can Someone upload the entire film please?!

  • I agree!!! Please!

  • I have the film on dvd, maybe if I can get some time I might. I should tell you though, that knowing you kids nowadays you prolly wouldn't watch it bc half of it is real boring. I mean real boring. It's also a very long film, well more than 2 1/2 hours.

  • 80's movies were the best..

  • Let's not get presumptuous. Mickey was awesome in Pope of Greenwich Village. And Year of the Dragon was superb. Mickey Rourke might have gone a bit to the weird side, but, hey, who doesn't these days? Let's remember a terrific actor for what they were.

  • Mickey, what have you done with yourself...

  • Mickey got old and stupid. But I'm thankful he's redeemed himself with The Wrestler.

  • hes done lisa bonet amongst others

  • Yes!
