  • what about if it snows?

  • @meowey55 We've only ever had light snow and it wasn't a problem. People keep bees up north also.

  • @SurvivalReport oh nice thanks for the reply :D

  • I wonder if you could leave an empty hive with some established honeycomb out as a dummy and treat it for the wax moths I wonder if that was save your main hives. You would think that the wax moth would go for the defenceless hive and die because its been treated to kill them.

  • Many thanks for taking the time to share your experience with those precious videos.

    Jean-marc

  • the summer here in iraq is very hot ,,can i insert more frames to make the hive more larger inspite of hot whether?another question can you tell me is there any difference between plastic frames and wax frame because i saw in youtube some of the beekeeper put a plastic frames instead of the wax made by the bees?

  • great videos so far, do u mske more all the time or was it a one time thing to hit most topics, hoping to get a hive next year very intrested ty

  • you guys are great! my bees are coming on the 22nd of next month.. Can't wait

  • Wax Moths wouldn't be so bad if they made their own honey but they are demon spawn from hell!!

  • Hey,

Thanks for the beekeeping vids! I am considering entering the hobby and your vids and information have been invaluable! Thanks again!

  • distilled or boiled water is important for clean sugar water feeding

  • Good advice

  • are you part of delta69alpha? just wondering. and if so are you all from the same area? anyways love your vids! ive learned alot

  • I'm the "Dave" from the crew there, yes. The Idaho thing started as a joke and we just kinda ran with it. We explain that in Beekeeping part 3 or 4.

  • I would suggest that the hives are too close together and your entrances should be reduced more.

  • They are not too close together. The only problem of having hives close to eachother is a domino effect of alert pheramone. It is managed by working the hives in an alternating pattern. I have seen a hundred hives sitting all inches appart. How far do you think they are spaced when their comming off a commercial truck on a pallet?

  • i agree.

  • Thanks! It's been pretty cold already!!

  • its supposed to be a cold winter hope ur bees make it

  • Early cold is a good thing. If they do not form the 'cluster' until late december there are several weeks where the population will exceed the amount of food availible. Thus greatly reducing the amount of winter food stores and their chances of survival. However, any long or extreemly cold winter will also require additional food stores. Which is why Africanized hives don't do well in cold areas.
