MC is in a very tough spot. He can't please both the conservative base and swing voters in sufficient numbers to win the election. He has to pick a lane.

IMO he should play to the center and focus on his "maverick" image. He MUST pick a female VP (Kay Baily Huthison or Condi) and hope he can attract disaffected Hillary supporters and capture enough swing voters.

Then, he must pray the conservative base turns out in huge numbers.

Bottom line is he's going to lose the election.
