this reminds me of blackfoot lullaby's. there's a story about how when we first became people, the "wolf people" showed us how to work and live together as a group and we learned some songs from them so when women sing lullaby's, they often end on a low fade out note like a wolf

I had a female Alaskan Malamute just like this one. She howelled just like that when anyone started singing or when she heard any type of siren from outside. But at the age of 5 she got severe epilepsy and I had to put her down. I never got another dog after that. No other dog could fill her spot in my heart.

We had a malamute named Elivis that we had to put down [ he had throat cancer] and we vowed to never get another one. Our house was so lonely and empty without him we searched for another Mal to fill the void. We rescued a 2 year old mal that turned into SATAN whenever someone came to visit. He ended up going to a vet who specializes in behavior problems. We got Earl, a 2 month old mal and he is the best thing since Elvis to put love in our hearts again. GET ANOTHER MAL ! YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

This is a malamute. One of its original jobs it was bred for was to protect and baby sit children and infants. It is singing to the baby. Its sounds like a male to me. The beginning of the song sounds like my male singing. My female sings to her pups in a similar fashion.
