  • there is no difference between me and them.they are my brothers.dhamma brothers.peace

  • I attended the 10-days course once and it was probably the greatest experience in my life. You don't need to be buddhist or religious just as you don't need when going to the gym. It's not about believing. It's about sitting, breathing, and practicing.

  • hard core drug addict and drug dealer flick rahke sent me here

  • black theives yo niggahs yo

  • Fantastic!!! Every person on earth could benefit from meditation. So glad to see these prisoners, our fellow men are being taught the beauty of true freedom.

  • The power of meditation. True freedom!

  • This has the potential to be a positive movement. Religion shouldn't even enter into it. Buddhism, at its core, is a philosophy, a way of life. If it helps these guys in prison, more power to it, I say !

  • fantastic. Well done! :)

  • this is freedom

  • Difficult environment for that...

    but I hope it works

  • a positive outcome is that after they go through the meditation process and are released into the community there may be a decrease in reoffending. 97% of prisoners at this prison will be released.

  • All religions are simply branches of the same tree...

  • The truth is always hard to be seen. One must have wisdom and insight to see the reality. What is suffering, what is the course of suffering, end of suffering, and the ways to end it, has to be seen by themselfs with wisdom. Any one how tries to reach that goal is will obtain results in no time. So listen, sustain, and practice in Dhamma. To gain the merits of their deeds. Life is too short so make it fruitful. Your efforts will be appreciated by wise.

  • Like a luminous full moon emerging from black clouds. Human beings can change, and do change. Very moving! Well done and thank you. Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu.

  • @alukuhito Materialism, racism, prejudice, religious supremacy. Is that what Jesus was pointing to?

  • Why don't you just read your Bible instead of expecting everyone else to think for you?

  • @alukuhito - But that's what 'Believing in the Bible' is, isn't it? It's just following what everyone else thinks without questioning it. Lets just accept it like 'blind faith' and not ask any questions...

  • I don't even know where you're coming from. You supposedly had a question about what Jesus was pointing to, so I simply pointed you in the direction of The Bible. I'm not asking for blind faith. I would hope that my faith isn't blind. I don't even know what "believing" in the Bible means. I'm certainly not asking anyone to think that the Bible is free of metaphors and everything in it is literal fact. That would make absolutely no sense.

  • I'm just saying that by reading the Bible you can get a clearer sense of who Jesus actually was. It's a lot more healthy than just backing up your opinions with a verse here or there taken out of context (which you probably never even looked up yourself). All these preachers of hate out there. Why not just ignore them, read the entire New Testament for yourself, without getting stuck on any self-righteous passages, and get a good feel for what Jesus the Christ was about.

  • Our prison systems are a fucking joke. WTF.

  • This docu is definitely a must see! There was a bit in the movie where one man said Prison is thing of captivity rather than rehabilitation. Although the crimes some of these men have committed were horrific, beyond all of their actions they are still Human beings!

Great job to the maker of this documentary!

  • beautiful work, so inspiring, so important! Thank you so much, keeping the focus that the people inside the walls are human beings themselves

  • thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha and all my Dhamma family!

  • This fills me with inspiration.

  • if i was living in prison hell i would want to try to transform it/me into a much better place. i've done the vipassana retreats and if i was locked up i would like to be put in solitary confinement just so i could meditate.

  • society is fixed on punishing people for what the did. eye for an eye.love what gandhi said,''eye for and eye will make the whole world blind''.prisons are a breeding ground for violence and crime. we all know it. WE, because we all are john q taxpayers who are responsible for paying for prisons. im sure most ppls reaction to prisons is that is does not effect them, why should they worry. i say to you,you live in society, you are only as strong as your weekest player.

  • Watch this on youtube

    "Wisdom of the Buddha"

To get out of the "prison" that we manifest in our mind

  • There are prisons within prisons, here are 4 all humans occupy..

1st prison - The Earth (gravity) Only escape temporarily in planes & spacecrafts.

2nd prison - Political Systems (Presidents, Prime Ministers, Govenors etc communist or democratic), government controls are everywhere!

3rd prison - The Body, except for death, you cant escape your own body even if you want to!

4th prison - The Mind, Here is our only hope of escape; either temporairly via drugs or meditation & willpower!

  • Rich white people spend tens of thousands of dollars traveling to remote areas in Asia to do much the same thing in a highly regimented minimalist environment.

  • Highly recommend the film to anybody that has not seen it yet!

  • very moving ,

  • I think it's interesting to note that the reason isolation is often a form of punishment in prisons is that prisoners cannot control their own minds. Their own minds become the instrument of torture.

This is true with most of us really; if left alone our minds are so messed up they actually begin to harm us.

But, send a very competent meditator into 'isolation' and they would be thanking the guards for the opportunity to rest their mind and to skillfully investigate it more deeply ;-)

  • that's right - being face to face with yourself is the most difficult thing for most people, in and out of prison. This is the why and the wherefore of drugs and every other kind of distraction - avoidence of self, of feelings, and thoughts, and rage, and pain.

  • So true!

  • This is a great film, I'm glad I finally bought it. Namaste.

  • All paths lead up the mountain-

the only one lost is the man running around the mountain telling everyone they are on the wrong path.

  • Great project!

  • I wanna see it!

  • Peace.

  • sadhu! sadhu! sadhu! great movie, nice trailer

  • It`s about time people stop attaching religion to the Buddah's teaching and try his technique then they may experience for them selves heaven within and get to God. Instead of talking and preaching about what God wants, experience what god is. Love.

  • @pary88 There is no god in Buddism. They meditate for salvation and peace. NOT FOR GOD.

  • @pary88 I'm buddhist. In Buddhism, we don't really talk about experiencing God. We don't talk about any God. This is completely out of our focus. I would rather talk about experiencing the nature of the mind, fresh and pure.

  • @pary88

WHAT THE FUCK? SHUT THE FUCK UP AND BE OPEN ONCE IN A WHILE

If you think like that then, that's not freedom of liberation. That's like being enslaved by some made up shit.

If you ever meditated in your life you'd never say that shit.

You know whats retarded? People think they can go out and go out and do some more crime because they think god will forgive them.

  • @pary88 The technique works whether you are religious or not. In my case, I'm not.

  • @pary88

WHAT THE FUCK? ARE YOU USING THE BUDDHA'S TEACHINGS FOR GOD? Stealing is a sin you fucking god lover.

Look at the billions of convicts who became followers of god and look at how many continued crime even after being taught the bible.

  • @pary88 There's no God.

  • sadhu! sadhu! sadhu! bring the joy of the dhamma to al.You don't have to put away jesus to experience the simple dharmas of life.just add in a dash of 4 Noble Truth & Noble Eightfold path, and there you've found it. Peace

  • amazing to see that transformation can occur under the worst of circumstances. thanks for posting!
