@Megadeth72 that's because for some odd reason, Argentina don't really have a Xavi or Iniesta type player to provide service to Messi and not only service but players who can communicate with him on that level, they need a deep lying playmaker to play along with Cambiasso (who they consistently refuse to include in the national squad) and Mascherano....I reckon Riquelme would be perfect but for some reason they don't take him in the national team as well, I guess he's probably old now....
