the info is wrong. the plane did belong to Ethiopian Airlines but the passengers were actually from all parts of the world. It is very unlikely that all of them were black. Though I couldn't find any information about the hijackers' religious views (which don't matter) one of them was Sultan Ali Hussein, and I think there is a chance he was a Muslim. The story is well known.

I hate reading things like "because the victims were only black africans". There is no difference.

When I was 10 I was at this same beach and spoke to one of the rescuers who was there on the day. He says he got to the site and everyone was diving down. other rescuers came up to surface to throw up because of the carnage. Difficult to know why the pilot dipped the wing like that. It caused the aircraft to break up badly. Maybe he was trying to align parallel with the waves. Either way, many of the passengers drowned because they inflated their life jackets while they were still in the aircraft. Happens in all ditchings. Crew tell them not to but people panic and pull the chord and get stuck when the plane fills up with water.
