  • Hi! My name is Tyus Bowman and I live in the U.S., New Mexico to be more exact. I'm a percussionist in high school currently and I love this solo. I've listened to it every day this week almost and I would really like to find this piece in America. If you could give me any details or specific locations to find this I would really appreciate it. I'm not sure if you'll be able to respond to this in time but any information would help. Thanks and keep making music! :)

  • Hi Tyus, nice that you like DaMa-Dance, please try this link for the USA to buy it: .tfront.com/p-218429-dama-dance-for-marimba-solo.aspx

    Thanks NIls

  • @piano1meets2vibes Thank you so much!

  • he is my uncle

  • Wonderful song, I really enjoy your compositions.

    Take care

  • I have a very important question. How do u work up your indepence so u can play that 6/8 part at the beginning? And is it just easier to play that top note stuff with the right hand outside mallet or are u just comfortable playing it like that?

  • geil

  • Absolutely lovely!!

  • how can i bu the sheet music for this ?

  • just bought this!

  • I really like this becuase its like an actual song, as opposed to traditional mallet pieces that simply focus on complexity and impressing other musicians instead of actually focusing on people listening.

  • where can i get this sheet music??

  • This is the most amazing elevator music ever

  • how can I purchase the sheet music for this?

  • schhhwwweeeeet

  • WTF O-o

  • your style of music is wonderful! thank you for not writing contemporary music that has just a bunch of random notes! you have a new fan. ME!

  • what mallet holding tecniqe is that?

  • @Slein95 the good kind

  • Nils,

Great job. You played this like awesome. Just wondering what kind of overhead mics you were using. If you could respond that would be great.

  • @cad1968

Hi, nice that you like this, I use AKG C 391 B electric condensator Mics,

Very good allround Mics, also good for Drumset Overhead.

    Nils

  • i love your interpretation of this song, beautiful dynamic work, great sound quality. amazing job overall

  • what grade is this? this looks like a really good solo...

  • @prodegyX7

Hi the playing grade is 4-5, maybe comparably with Spanish Dance or Rain Dance

    Nils

  • what grade is this?

  • Is this piece difficult compared to yellow after the rain? Cause I did that last year and it was a challenge but a good level for me. Can anyone help me? :)

  • @MarieeSaysHello Yellow after the rain is probably the dumbest sounding piece ever, but is great for teaching technique. Id suggest getting a few more solos under your hands before you order this.

  • @TheDaleMail Ughhh cause I'm not that good. I'm on drumline so I don't work with marimba too much. It's hard for me to find a cool sounding piece that I can actually play!

  • @MarieeSaysHello Just keep looking. There are some awesome solos out there.

  • @MarieeSaysHello i played this as my first four mallet marimba solo last year as a freshman it was accomplishable and it sounds awesome :D just takes practice

  • wahnsinn! wunderschön :-)

  • ich liebe den klang dieses marimbas, super soundqualität und super skill ;)

  • @blubbeldiblubb100

Jo, 2 Overheads, mehr brauchst du nicht für ein Marimba

  • I'd also know where to get the music?

  • @chsdrums012 tfront.com

  • can i get this score? it sounds awsome and what mallets are you using?

  • what grip are you using?

  • Hi, I try it with the Burton Grip

    Nils

  • working on this piece right now. It's pretty tough, but sounds so good.

  • this is really cool! what mallets are you using, they have a really awesome sound.

  • does this require a 5 octv?

  • no, DaMa-Dance is for A-Marimba (4,3 oct)

    Nils

  • This video has been in my favourites for a long time, and because of it, I have dreamed of learning to play the marimba. I just got a job as a music teacher in a facillity which has a marimba =D My quest begins now...

P.S I want to buy my own beaters - any advice on choosing the right kind?

  • i recently ordered a pair of ney rosauro signature mallets medium hard and medium soft and am pretty happy with them. they are about 30 bucks a pair but very good. a nice pair for starting would be "giff howarth signature keyboard mallets" medium and meium hard i think i bought. they are good affordable mallets with a nice sound so perfect for starting "beaters" . good luck with learning marimba. :)

  • Could you please send me the score of this piece . Great sound btw :)

  • me ha encantado, donde puedo conseguir la partitura? me encanta. es una pasada y el chico q la interpreta es un genio, muy bien las dinámicas, etc... muchas gracias por esta buena música
