Hi! My name is Tyus Bowman and I live in the U.S., New Mexico to be more exact. I'm a percussionist in high school currently and I love this solo. I've listened to it every day this week almost and I would really like to find this piece in America. If you could give me any details or specific locations to find this I would really appreciate it. I'm not sure if you'll be able to respond to this in time but any information would help. Thanks and keep making music! :)
Awesome tune. I'm trying to find it in america so i can play it in my percussion studio at Ball State but i dont know where to get it. any suggestions?
I have a very important question. How do u work up your indepence so u can play that 6/8 part at the beginning? And is it just easier to play that top note stuff with the right hand outside mallet or are u just comfortable playing it like that?
I really like this becuase its like an actual song, as opposed to traditional mallet pieces that simply focus on complexity and impressing other musicians instead of actually focusing on people listening.
hi, i just bought this solo a day or two ago, im wondering what mallets you used for this peice? and are they wighted? thanks and im looking forward to learning this peice
Is this piece difficult compared to yellow after the rain? Cause I did that last year and it was a challenge but a good level for me. Can anyone help me? :)
@MarieeSaysHello Yellow after the rain is probably the dumbest sounding piece ever, but is great for teaching technique. Id suggest getting a few more solos under your hands before you order this.
@TheDaleMail Ughhh cause I'm not that good. I'm on drumline so I don't work with marimba too much. It's hard for me to find a cool sounding piece that I can actually play!
@MarieeSaysHello i played this as my first four mallet marimba solo last year as a freshman it was accomplishable and it sounds awesome :D just takes practice
This video has been in my favourites for a long time, and because of it, I have dreamed of learning to play the marimba. I just got a job as a music teacher in a facillity which has a marimba =D My quest begins now...
P.S I want to buy my own beaters - any advice on choosing the right kind?
i recently ordered a pair of ney rosauro signature mallets medium hard and medium soft and am pretty happy with them. they are about 30 bucks a pair but very good. a nice pair for starting would be "giff howarth signature keyboard mallets" medium and meium hard i think i bought. they are good affordable mallets with a nice sound so perfect for starting "beaters" . good luck with learning marimba. :)
me ha encantado, donde puedo conseguir la partitura? me encanta. es una pasada y el chico q la interpreta es un genio, muy bien las dinámicas, etc... muchas gracias por esta buena música
