If i'm honest I expected this to be crap... no one touches the beatles in my opinion.... But this is really good, it's different and has its own slant, but still manages to capture the good stuff from the first song. I like it big thumbs up...

If i'm honest I expected this to be crap... no one touches the beatles in my opinion.... But this is really good, it's different and has its own slant, but still manages to capture the good stuff from the first song. I like it big thumbs up...
Oh and the Libs... and BabyS are Fuckin great...

incredibly difficult song to cover, its legendary. some of the covers for this album/project were great and this one is just average. they just don't have the voices to pull it off.

@paulgad Yeah I never realized this and only found out the other day. My friend has just got back from Colorado after being there a year. He was going to open mic nights and playing Pete Doherty/Libertines songs and people were coming up to him asking him if he rote them and when he said who they were by they just looked at him blank. Also he said quite a few people thought The Strokes were Brits!!!

I wasn't really referring to the bands. I think there were (and are) fantastic US bands (The Stooges, The Ramones, Nirvana, Metallica, The Pixies, Hendrix Experience, The Doors, Kings of Leon, ...) and fantastic UK bands (Oasis, The Verve, The Stones, The Beatles, The Sex Pistols, The Libertines, ...). What I meant was, there sense for good authentic music.
Yeah and by the way, I am German.

I think it also depends on what kind of rock music your into.
British bands are mainly more pop influenced. Their sound is more constant, more harmonic.
US bands are mainly more influenced by rock. So they sound more dissonent.
Symptomatical for that. The 90's. Grunge (US) and Britpop (UK).
By the way: USA - Algeria 1:0. Top of the group. Well done. Now we have to handle England at the Round of 16. : )

There are people who aren't completely retarded, but the media here highlights and glorifies complete shit basically. Not only that, but I watch clips on youtube like the jonathan ross show, and it just seems like people are more "real" in the uk, and they dont bleep every fucking swear word.

I'm from United States & I really enjoy Pete. and the shambles and Libertines. His music is very much a part of my everyday life. I dont know anyone else that listens to his music. Its a shame & I try to help guide them to his musical direction. I was very much a fan of shannon hoom from blind melon, he reminds me of him.

@kmylo4 Yes "have you red the book" is the part where the orchestra divides the song to the psychedelic transition. If you knew a bit about Music (I mean, not the Libertines, I really mean Music), you'd knew what I'm talking about. And bout their voices, yes, they sing like shit. And I'm a better singer than the Beatles themselves according to my fans when I perform Beatles songs in Europe. So don't call me asshole whereas you're talking to your bottom, fart guy.
