i dont think accent is the issue. that happens when people is adapting themselves to places. i think its more of a show of respect to the british. its not like hes mocking or something. :)
I bought one about 6 months ago for my two sons, ages 5 and 7
They love it!
It's quick and easy to put up and take down.. so much so; you can go to the park for a 20 minute kick around and it is no major pain to take the goal, put it up, take it down.
It has improved both my son's shooting accuracy immensly!.
I'd dare say Brad's accent is halfway between Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Lancaster, England: Still mostly Middle American (with a touch of German Amish) with a good dose of the NW of England thrown in.
I'm American and spent some significant time in Scotland as a kid. You can't help but pick up the accent. Same thing can happen here in the US. You move south at a young enough age and around it enough, you pick up the accent and the vocabulary. I agree, he sounded like he had more of a Scottish borgue going on though.
But accent acquisition is much more likely to happen if you live abroad when you're kid, much less likely as an adult.
Friedel grew up in Ohio and didn't go to England until his mid 20s. It really bizarre how much of the accent he picked up moving there that late in life.
Goes to show you the English accent is certainly more attractive than the American one, I have a co-worker natively from England, but has been here for over than ten years, her accent is still there. It also depends on the person too, but in general, give me two years in England and I'm pretty sure my way of speaking will change dramatically.
Sounds like a light Irish accent. Strange, but cool.
