The HC-130J airplane flew from Eliz. City toward the EPIRB and the crew spotted the boat. In the first segment (up to 1:16) the boat has not yet been dismasted and the man is still aboard. The wave that dismasted the sailboat, knocked the man overboard, and holed the cabin was not caught on video. The second video segment (beginning 1:16) was shot after the boat had sailed away on its way to sinking, and shows the two rafts being deployed to the best guess of the location of the swimming man.
If they could have dropped some of thoughs Chemical Light on the deck of the vessel. They would have been able to see people on the decks. Like it was daylight. They should first try doing it first on their night flight trainning first. To see how well it woud work for the Coastie's. Good Luck USCG.
