  • Hey I wanted. To know. How. Much. Did. It. Cost were. Do u get. It from was it easy. To do

  • this guy knows how to tune,,,,,,,thats cool that you pulled this off on stock parts,,,,,

  • how much did the turbos cost?

  • How much does the tunning cost?

  • this car is now for sale!

  • @denmah Just a quick question, what did you have to do to the engine to cope with the new power? Did you have to do anything at all to the engine or transmission? Also how reliable was this setup after the install? Any problems with knocking or whining transmission after a while?

  • @crackerisntme stock engine and trans, as far as i know the owner in jersey drove it for years

  • @denmah where????

  • That makes sense. Probably provide a more dense charge since it can give up more heat on its way to the intake.

  • damn it might actually be close to running with an ls1 now, lol

  • no muffler needed?

  • i have a 95 crown vic thats stock and its a damn good car dependable as hell cheap on gas 4.6L but its pretty weak good top end but sick on bottom

  • jesus the end is epic

  • 320 Rear Wheel Horsepower is roughly 390-380 Horse Power at the crank I think, somewhere around there.

  • im thinking about doing this to my vic, what size turbo is that? "Love the metallica in the background btw"

  • @kodiak410a its called a cold air intake when there under the car like that homie

  • hey dude i have a 03 p71 undercover came with stock with inside roof lights its cool car but not that hp stock . i bought the turbo v2 kit 8 psi for 500 how much u think it cost to install ?

  • how long is this car expected to last with stock everything?

  • Sweet setup Denmah you Rock dude do you think it's worth doing a dyno on a 04 cvp71 ? iv,e added a set of short flowmaster s-44's and a K&N Filter just curious does a dyno include tweaking anything ? mine is already loud n fast just got it Recently mint 04 all white blacked out windows only had 55,800k on it Looks like a brand new 09 i took the hood matting off my 07 vic cuz every one iv,e seen doesn't have the matting it's so strange.. got the luxary hubcaps also i like them cuz their chromed

  • How much power can the stock trans hold up to?? Im going to build a 95 towncar up soon and want to know how stout the trannys are

  • whats the cost for a set up like this?(i own a 2001 police interceptor)

  • thats a nice set up , too bad i cant do that for everyday use, around here it rains a lot , and there are too many puddles , the turbo would be damaged within a month or so. I would be great for the dragstrip. Peace out.

  • it states on the video that its all stock but the turbo's,,,,,,and the tune,,,,so its all on the car to start with,,the only add ons are the sts universal kit with a tune,,,?? is this true ?????

  • Looks like a sweet setup. Im not being a smartass or anything, but doesn't locating the turbo under the car pose a risk of damging it if you should drive up on high water or splash from puddling on the road?

  • @kodiak410a well i would avoid high water, yes.

  • @kodiak410a so long as it's not submerged, no. Some people add water/alcohol injection systems to their turbocharged cars to reduce the risk of detonation. It works even better on rear mounted turbo cars because the liquid is definitely atomized by the time it gets to the engine. So no, water from a puddle would atomize and pass through the engine without any damage.

  • @kodiak410a the turbo on a remote mount doesnt get as hot as a manifold mount so a puddle wouldnt hurt it too bad. as long as the intake is higher up.

  • from 235 hp stock at the crank to 319 at the wheels. thats prolly 350-360 at the crank

    thats badass.

  • FYI i found a turbo kit on ebay for 850$

  • @jmecrg excellent, let me know how that works out for you.

  • @denmah LMAO

  • Hmmm I got my 03 P71 and it could use some extra oomph. I would just be worried I have 97,500 miles on it and had an incident with putting boost on a higher mileage engine and having it push the dipstick out with 8psi... Is this engine low mileage or rebuilt?

  • @rompn4x it had over 100k, i think 130 something

  • @denmah How much does a setup like that run. You got me really interested in this... My Crown Vic is fun but could use 130 more hp to move those 2 tons lol.

  • @rompn4x $1500 universal sts turbo kit and a $300 dyno tune plus if you pay some one to put you sts pipe's on,,,,,

  • Why is the turbo there and not bt the engine? So the air being forced in there is cooler?

  • @MooseBaker the reason the turbo is in the exhaust path is because by being close to the entry point of the exhaust, it makes plumbing the turbo much easier, with no need to change headers and so forth on the engine side of things. Plus, it spools pretty fast from the exhaust. The forced air being routed back to the engine, gives a chance for the forced air to cool down somewhat, before being introduced, but he also uses an aluminum radiator to provide extra cooling for the forced air.

  • why can you not mount the turbo in the engine bay. im sure that there is enough room to mount a descent sized turbo in there somewhere

  • i found bolt on kit .reinhartautomotive check nit out

  • CAN I DO THIS TO MY GRAND MARQUIS ???? DO I JUST BY A UNIVERSAL STS KIT AND GET A SCT TUNE FROM BLUE OVEL ???? I DONT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING TO THING THE FUEL SYSTEM ???? THIS WOULD SAVE ME LIKE 2 OR 3 GRAND.......

  • @CREAMFILLEDANISH85

the stock fuel system can support more then the stock hp but once u reach its max you need to upgrade. it would be a good idea to get a walbro 255lph pump its good for about 560hp and u might need injectors depending on ur hp goals but i wont push the stock 4.6l past 350whp ur best bet is to find a performance shop that works with mostly fords

  • looks like you got a good filter on the turbo. I would imagine it would suck in a lot of debree being under the car

  • DID U ADD HEADERS TO IT AN ALSO AN WERE THE TURBO MOUNTS CUSTUME OR FROM THE STORE

  • Awesome, metallica in the background!

  • How's it holding up to 6 psi on the stock internals and everything?

  • thats a cute front mount

  • These systems have just as much lag as a traditional turbo system on a turbo manifold. Even with all the pipe it's the same as any other setup

  • Just Listen to the that purrrrrr along!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It still has the catalitic converter? Why? if you remove it i bet it will increase at least 10 more hp , and i doubt the noise level wont be that different. Nice ride.

  • i have a 95 crown and i have a couple of videos check them out for me and please offer some advice bcus i want my car like yours and been wanting it like that for two years now

  • Comment removed

  • what did you do with the hoses hooked into the intake pipe? for ex. the breather pipe for the valve cover?

  • as i would assume pressurizing them would be bad...

  • as i would assume pressurizing them would be bad...

  • i have a vic with a stock engine, i have spent less than 1k in tuning and go-fast parts and i have 354 rwhp... No power adders.

  • How much for parts alone?

  • all that piping the lag has got to be unreal

  • @super16g123

youtube sts turbo and see all the cars that have this "unreal lag" ... see how much the owners enjoy having them

  • sanitarium... leave me be

  • What kind and size turbo is that? I have a 98 p71 and have come to the conclusion that a rear mount is the only realistic way to turbo these things.

  • @oneSICKvic its a 50-60mm precision

  • I like your setup but I would want the air filter in the front if possible with piping. I cant imaging hearing the intake from the rear of the car vs front. What size is the turbo did you get it tuned or recommend it. How much psi or rwhp can the Modular V8 handle stock. I dont see the mufflers and its only one exhaust. A 04up P71 is a 99-04 Mustang GT with a Automatic, Taller diff ratio, and 900 pounds!

  • Thats awesome! So nice and discrete do you get a ride in the car before and after? If so how was it?? Any clue what it would be like in a 1/4 mile?

  • @mattcat234 i think it was 4-5k installed and tuned. dont quote me on that though.

  • @denmah 5 grand ???? its just a $1500 universal sts kit with a $300 tune at any dyno shop,,,and lik $400 for a exhaust shop to run your sts pipe's,,???? thats $2200 ,,,,man he got ripped off if everything is stock but turbo and tune ????

  • @CREAMFILLEDANISH85 well, i guess things like injectors, intercooler, fuel pump, gears, trans, mass air meter, tuning, etc are all free?

  • @denmah rear mounted turbo

    2v modular 4.6l

stock mafs, injectors, pump, trans etc.

    206rwhp stock, 320rwhp @ 6psi,,,,,????????????

  • So what all is needed for this install, forged internals? or will the stock engine components work?

  • @frylock44 this was a stock engine crown vic

  • Awesome so how much did the steup run this guy cash wise? If I can swing it I'll get it done to my 02 this summer.

  • @denmah How's it holding up?

  • @tman06798 Yeah, I'd like to know that too. Also, what year is this Vic? From the wheels I'd venture 2007-current?

  • @btraker 03 is when they switched to that offset.

  • so i can take my grand marquis a sts turbo with a tune and keep it under 6psi and i will be ok? and at the same time save about $ 5,000 ?

  • well, that's the thing about educated people, they think they're right but they don't actually get shit done.

  • That's alot of piping. no need for an intercooler.

  • Remote mount rear turbo's are great. The benifits far out way the negatives. There's a reason STS turbo's went that way.

  • you dont even need a front mount with all that ic piping

  • Interesting idea, but completely less-then-ideal physics. The hot side of the turbo should be as close to the manifolds as possible to get the most out of the thermal energy and the cold side should have as little plumbing as possible between the outlet of the compressor (through the intercooler) and then the intake. This is actually a very inefficient and counterproductive design, sorry to say... It's a Rube Goldberg turbo setup. lol

  • Well, Mr. Rocket Scientest, went from 206 to 320hp.

    Something went right.

  • I'm an electrical engineer, not a physicist as you implied, but I'm educated enough to know this setup is ass-backwards. Anyone that understands mechanical engineering would agree with my statement. Have a good one.

  • 206hp to 320hp

    Facts are facts.

I agree, turbo under hood would yeald more hp but this will do.

Intake just ahead of rear axel, bad. He should poke a hole in the trunk and run intake inlet there.

  • You're right about that being better, but it still doesn't make sense for 2 reasons: 1) The is prolly a lot of lag because of all that completely unnecessary plumbing and the max hp number won't accurately reflect that. 2) There is no shortage of room under the hood of a Crown Vic; I have one so I know.

It's not so much the HP numbers that is the issue, but more so turbo response time, excessive weight/complexity and too cool exhaust gasses at the turbo. I do agree with your points tho.

  • Getting turbo under hood needs a cowel induction hood. Usually they remove battery and some other stuff and move to trunk.

Just a lot of work to do.

  • my vic 01 vic p71 has a turbo under the hood and i have a stock hood and it pushes out 420hp with a k&n intake he is right you dont need all that pipe it cuts the reaction time down

  • you are way off,,,this is called a remote turbo setup and you can buy this from sts turbo,,,this set up has no turbo lag and no need for a inter cooler do to how fare the turbo is placed from the manifold heat is vary vary bad for performance in a turbo install,,,this is a real thing not just something someone did in the basement ,,lol if you look up remote turbo you can read more about it,,,when you look at it it looks all wrong but it workes vary good,,,no lag no heat and it will fit anyware

  • I stand corrected. Thanks for explaining it.

  • Any turbo system will have lag. If you believe anyone who says otherwise, you need to research more. And, theoretically, no turbo system NEEDS an intercooler, its just a much smarter way to stop parts from breaking (like the turbo bearings) and a much simpler way to get colder, and more dense, air. remote vs engine bay set up is 6 vs 1/2 dozen. Its like arguing chevy vs. ford. Nobody is going to let you win no matter which way you argue.

  • little to no lag is possible if you know how,,and if you think a intercooler is just to stop parts from breaking you dont have a clue,,,the higher you go in psi the hotter the air gets leading to pre-det and blowen engines ,,,,if you live in florida like i do you you should get one off the back do to the heat,,,,,,its not just about turbo bearings,,,lol ,,,,,,,,,if you dont know what you are talking about dont leave a comment,,,,,, turbo bearings ???? come on man,,lo,,, break out the google, lol

  • Honestly? all turbos have bearings in one way or another, regardless of ball-bearing (hence "ball-bearing turbo") or a thin film of oil on which the impeller slides (which can burn and turn into varnish/sludge, the number 1 cause for OEM blown turbos. And yes, I am familiar with what an intercooler does. Though, like I said, it stops parts from breaking... by keeping temperatures down. And also, like I said "Any turbo system will have lag."

  • maybe not a LOT of lag, but that's all dependent on the SIZE of the turbo, not pipe length.

  • hm, thats pretty cool. but, imo itd just be better to run underhood, theres plenty of room. and it sounds like the turb's alittle small, for rear mounted its spooling up way fast.

  • what type of exhaust is on this beast Id like to put those pipes on my Silverado but i want a Crown vic just to driver around in and put my blue lights in it lol and yes i'm aware of the Police Impersination Laws just incase you want to inform me on those but I m going to be a Georgia state patrol when i graduate college

  • How much did this kit cost you, and whats the name of it

  • PSI Motorsports custom built the kit.

    New Tripoli PA

    6102982800

  • need more info...want to do this to my 05 crown victoria!!!

  • cool at the beginning how hes got Sanitarium by Metallica playing :D

  • 4v heads?

  • no they are just 2v heads.

  • ok so i have a cop car and i really wanna know what size turbo you used, i need this setup on my car!! nice work it sounds sick, how driveable is it?

  • never seen a rear turbo.

help ppl out, wat turbo/intercooler are you using?

  • sts i believe are the ones that make rear mounted turbo kits that go in place of mufferls they are also carb legal for cali residents

  • too bad im selling my 2 interceptors :(

even if i wasnt i live in alabama we dont give a shit about the planet enough to have smog control

  • hey whats that sound??? is it the engine???

  • General Tire Exclaim UHP?

  • pump it up, u cant hurt the 2vN/A motors till 400hp, but then they just blowup

  • you can go up to about 400 but do not expect it to last long before the connecting rods start to cry....if your going to be putting this much effort into an engine do it right and build the bottom end up

  • one last question, how did u tune it with the cats still in place

  • probably added a 02 sensor for tuning

  • what im trying to say is, an o2 to work properly needs to be mounted after the turbo but before the cats, cats are in front of the turbo so unless there gutted it might be running rich or lean how do u now

  • yes i understand...i checked out sts turbo and on their site they just use predator programmer with their own custom tune...how they developed that tune im not sure

  • whered u get the tubo?

  • very cool and nice clean install!

  • that is a LOUD turbo for only 6psi!

  • how much did this run?

  • Rear mounted turbos sound so cool, too bad the HP numbers are less than what you see on all STOCK vehicles these days, 300hp is weak.

  • You do realize, This Is 320 Rear Wheel Horsepower. Show me some stock cars putting that down to the wheels. They may have 300 crank horsepower, but factor in drivetrain loss, ect.

  • and its aside 4rm the turbo its all stock

  • OoO that was interesting hahaha.. but yeah i enjoyed this video.. fun, entertaining, what more could i ask for. hehe :]

  • awsome 5*
