I am not Australian, but recently start to understand history of this country. If any one can help me; What was the reason for sending young kids from UK to Australia???
@san2182 it was cheaper to care for them in australia than in the uk: it cost £5 per day in the uk whereas it cost 10 shillings (about 5p) per day in australia.
This is a great film. It's actually set to be released to theaters IN THE UNITED STATES on OCT 21, 2011... so check out local listings and support the telling of an incredible true story of crime and redemption.
jesus! that this actually happened in the 20th century! is there a single government on this damn planet that doesn't do (or at least support) horrible things?!
Just watching this preview brings tears to my eyes...called my wife over to see it....she was nearly sobbing....am going to see this film next Saturday at the movies.....looks like a brilliant emotionally charged movie.....
i cant wait for this to come out. its about time some of our stories got told. maybe now other aussies will understand the fight of the child in care. FORGOTTEN AUSTRALIANS AND SO CALLED CARE LEAVERS - WE MUST BE STRONG AND FIGHT ON FOR THE JUSTICE WE DESERVE.
Just watched this, it's a great film. Really well made.

Love movies that show a real side of countries that people worship so blindly sometimes!

Sending the children was one thing letting the religous organisations abuse them for decades is a scandal.
