Indeed the 1920's were a great period. It's such a shame America relied to much on Wall Street during this time as well. The laissez-faire policies of the day slowly led America, and the rest of the world, into a Great Depression
Wonderful Aaronson and love very much the Bennett sisters photo with those typical twenties hats. It is the summun to see such beauties modeling this incredible fashion! Many thanks Grzegorz!
Genia, and , OK with the 1:21 dame, but please, wear sometimes that gold-edged dress as at 1:15! You forgot, Rudy bought it for you for that Coco's party after his "Sheik"'s premiere in Nice? Bad girl, you're neglecting his presents, Dear!
Grzegorz - the artwork and the music - really exciting and upbeat! That woman in 1:59 looks like something Tamara De Lempicka would paint! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Lana, that's interesting what you're writing. That girl at 1:59 has been cut out by me from some ad. And - that magnified face suddenly clearly shows the linkeage between Tamara's art and popular commercial iconography of 1920s. This is not my argument AGAINST Lempicka's art - God! never! - But it's only what Parisian left bank artists, who were in disagreement with Tamara's ideas of serving the "uper classes" with her art - rose in their criticism against her
I also love that little band so much. The only pity is, so few sides they recorded ever! If Irving Aaaronson had had more influences in the worls od the recording companies of the Roaring Twenties, , it's him who'd have been the true "King Of Jazz", instead of Whiteman... who was overestimated, in my opinion... Rather reluctantly I upload Whiteman's recordings here
Lovely surprise on the eve of my latest journey to "my" beloved Europa. Only one thing will be missing: this man I know who makes such wonderful videos. I think he's from Poland.
B., thank you for the loveliest compliment you gave me, just before your entering into that big silver plane, just before your trip to the land of Tamara, d'Annunzio and the best ruccola, mozzarella, tomatoes & Modena vinaigrette salad in the world. See you soon!
