I am not sure what history you ready? But Germans show up in Prussia around 1300 AD !!! and basically till 1780 Prussia, was part of Polish Kingdom.

Prussia is the name of Baltic people ! same as Lithuanians and Estonian and Latvian ! They are not Slavic ! unfortunately their language disappeared around 1700 ! but is still known. Germans (Germanic tribes, not Slavs) Teutonic Knight came to Prussia around 1300, aim was to Christianize the Area. since Poles did not wanted to do it a "hard way".

Even Checks did not want to singe a "Lisbon tret" because of it. Of course it is, but Prussia has always been close to Russia for many reasons. German/prussians nobility married russian nobility (see Romanov dinasty) and there's always been a strong comercial and cultural relationship between prussian and russian culture (artistic, scientific, literary) and between the 2 countries about warfare.

Yes but Prussia doesn't exist anymore. Kaliningrad Oblast is the heartland of former Prussia. Brandenburg belongs to Germany, which has a far different culture from modern day Russia. The people have grown apart dramatically, too far for any major alliance to come in the immediate future.

With the collapse of former Soviet Union and the fall of Berlin wall the borders of Europe changed dramatically. Europe is going to loose the entity and the old concept of "countries" and "borders". We see in these years the costrunction of a Superstate on the model of USA with the birth of "euroregions" instead of the concept of "country" or "homeland". The fall of borders within european states and the birth of large free trade areas means only that Germany will expand eastwards.

Europe will not lose it's idea of borders because it's still very much an ethnic area. Germans see themselves as Germans, French as French, British as British. All of Europe relies on Russia for a large percentage of it's energy needs, that doesn't mean there is a special relationship. In fact, Germany's closest partner is still the United States and it has a military partnership with the French Republic. Germany as it exists today shows no push toward a 'special' relationship with Russia.

An example is the United Kingdom, who in fact refused to adopt the Euro. The British people themselves dislike the European Union as it threatens their national sovereignty.
