@mgkibbles Their studio albums used to be hot but since Everyday they've been all crap. Gotta settle for live recordings without every producer whose last name isn't Lillywhite and without all the studio effects crap.
im sorry i offended you with my vocabulary, but what i said was correct if you honestly think that Sugar Will has set lyrics. and you should throw away you "DMB elitist card" because you probably don't even know who the Flecktones are or the date of the longest performed song.
so whats gonna be next that you'll enlighten me on? that Blue Water was actually made AFTER Shotgun. that Thing is the predecesor to Cornbread? that the only time Warren Haynes has guested with the band was Piedmont? that Dave is in love with the song Spotlight? or that Butch was the only piano player the band has ever had? i'm sure you can screw up a few more things about DMB
whoa man. and you're accusing someone else of being a DMB elitist? calm yourself. it's true that Sugar Will has different lyrics each live version, but relax.
in response:
4.20.02 - #41 - 32:02 (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones guesting)
Debut years - Blue Water '92, Shotgun '06
Warren Haynes has guested since 1993
Spotlight is a "puke song" (9.11.92)
Peter Greiser - original band member on keyboard
wow you're the only DMB fan who knows that stuff! (sarcastic)
actually joe, i'm not sure you know "shit about everything" either. Warren Haynes has guest starred for two songs in '03 with DMB in Central Park. get YOUR facts straight.
uhh, i was making fun of the idiot who said that because a live version was released that it means that is the only way that song has ever been played... and yes Warren did guest on CP, he also guested all the way back in 94 on Blue Water
Who do you think you are talking shit about other fans. The band makes music to be enjoyed. Just shut up and listen. Don't argue and talk shit. You probably just need a one hitter of some chronic.
joe12lins is clearly right, Stand Up Bonus Disc is not an "album"... it's a compilation as a bonus to the actual SU album. Sugar Will has never had set lyrics, that's what it wasn't included in a studio version for Stand Up.
Uh oh, you kids have been smoking some of that wacky ta-back-ee again because there are SET lyrics for Sugar Will. And if you look reeeeeeeaaaaaal hard on the internet, you can find them.
Sugar Will CLEARLY does not have set lyrics and never has. The reason it was not on Stand Up was because Dave could not get the lyrics to a place where he wanted them, and was "heartbroken" that he didn't.
This is awesome! Dave apparently rewrote these words. Because I know this song by heart from his album and I found none of the same words (except for the chorus). Now I'll have to decipher them on this one. Thanks for the post.
um, this song has never been on an album. and almost every if not every version of this song has been different in lyrics. which is why it was on a three year hiatus, because Dave was not able to write down some set lyrics to the song.
Um, yea it was. Sugar Will (live version at Gorge 3 September 2004) was included on Warehouse companion cd when Stand Up compact disk hit the record stores.
he said album, to me that signifies some sort of studio album, unless other wise stated. unless of course he somehow has the version of this song in studio with Trey Anastasio. and still, he is acting as if different lyrics in this song is a rare thing, i dont think any one version of this song has the same lyrics as another version.
filmtress is correct ... Sugar Will was recorded on a mass-produced album (actually, a compact disc) which accompanied the StandUp pre-sale album (also a cd) which you obviously don't own (and we do). Filmtress is also correct that Dave sang entirely different Sugar Will lyrics at the San Diego concert for no other reason than to honor Roi. The chorus, however remained unchanged.
and apparently you are the dumbest piece of shit ever. yes i know this song is on the the Stand Up companion disc. and yes he is right the lyrics are different. but he said it in a way that made it seem as though it was some big deal that Dave changed the lyrics. find me two Sugar Wills that have the same lyrics. and he said album, to me, whenever you say album, i assume studio, which is the exact opposite of the SU companion. also dont act elitist about DMB when your username is Dreamgirl
Thanks for FINALLY admitting Sugar Will is on the Stand Up companion cd (which is a mass produced album ... fyi: not all mass-produced albums are "studio" ... they can be "live" or "compilation" or both). And thanks for FINALLY admitting the OP's discerning ear picked up the different lyrics.
And yes, you are also correct: I am a card carrying elitist DMB snob.
BTW, "profanity reveals a poor vocabulary, lack of imagination, and below average IQ."
What an opening I remember and what an awesome time I had. Good times never end even when good o' Roi had to go...
