  • On stock you can run a turbo set up but you boost would be minimum best bet is to buy some new pistons and rods even some heavier springs for it cams too if ur going that route to get the most power and drivability out of it.

  • yes there are internal mods Wiseco Pistons and Eagle Forged Connecting Rods, plus ARP bolts for the head. Untuned on 8 lbs made decent power. 15lbs of boost made rediculous power and snappy as can be. Soon to have cams done and some mild port and polish work done by me.

  • @supraboost99 hey, I just put in an exedy stage 2 in my 09 LS coupe and ordered a ZZP stage 2 turbo kit. Planning on running it at low boost and then internals after the winter. Same type of setup as you. Wondering how much the internals cost you to get installed?

  • @bboytaktix well internals didnt cost anything for install I did them all myself wasnt really that hard with a shop and proper tools just time consuming. Yea man ZZP Stage 2 is a great kit for the money what kind of boost you looking to push on low and high when the motors built??

  • @supraboost99 Well first, I plan on boosting at 7PSI which should make between 230-240whp I believe, just under the stock internal limit of 250hp (from GM build guide book). I will go the winter with that boost and then consider the internals next summer. Wiseco pistons and eagle rods and ARP bolts were suggested to me. hoping to boost around 14-15PSI with that, then I will see where to go from there. 18-19PSI would be a nice goal, but it is just my DD so 15PSI should be more than enough.

  • @bboytaktix yea 7 should be decent to run without internals. My buddy has Wiseco pistons and Eagle rods they work perfect and are easy to install with a set of ARP bolts never had a problem with it yet and still pushing decent power. Yea my buddy is on 15 lbs and its his daily driver and thats more than enough. Good luck with the build :P

  • @supraboost99 just to be sure, to boost around 15 like your friend, exact parts list would be? wiseco pistons, eagle rods, ARP head studs, new rod bearings for install and that's it? Just budgeting the next phase of my build is all :D and I'll have to find someone to install it as well, since I don't have a shop or proper equipment available...unless we can manage to leave the engine in and just take the top end off and do it from there :S

  • @bboytaktix he has Wiseco Pistons, eagle rods, ARP studs and he put new rod bearings in as well no necessary but might as well. Well if you lived close to me I would do it for ya at a real cheap price and ya wouldnt have to pull the engine at all can do it all the way it is. Just rip the top end off and the bottom and you can do it all from there. Just gotta remove the front clip and ur good to go from there. Its getting it all back together that is the time hasting process. Best of luck to ya!

  • Do u have any internal mods or just stock pistons and rods? And how many lbs. Only reason i ask is because im looking to turbo my 09 LS and trying to get more information.

  • umm havent dont much yet this year getting a programmer already has a AEM FIC but not sure what route my buddy wants to go with it yet.

  • what have you done to the ecu?

  • Dude you have a sick ass whip dude loving the color and tasteful mods man keep it up.

  • yea its a full Garrett kit and it does have a Bosch BOV, but its also running a HKS BOV and a AEM FIC and 15lbs. So yea thats why it sounds different prolly haha still a quick car.

  • Is that the full garrett kit?or just the turbo with custom piping and blow off cause that sounds nothing like mine which is the full garrett kit with the bosch recirc valve.Sounds awesome though!
