  • the first white rapper was freddie mercury. boo ya!

  • the coolest guy in hip-hop/rap!!!

  • Comment removed

  • hes better than that eminem and hotter

  • as far as the comments go alot of us old schoolers liked this kind of music back in the nineties we grew up on it vanilla ice did pave the road of hip hop for white rappers as did the beastie boys as far as the video goes the song was dope and ya alot of you youngsters were concieved to this song

  • still. one hit wonder. but i like this song.

  • This is hilarious and no he didn't make a path for Eminem, the Beastie Boys did....he is about as influential to rap as Los Del Rio are to Spanish music

  • id be more raged if i was redirected to this than getting rickrolled.

  • Who the hell is RIFF? and Why is everyone dancing so fast if this is a “slow jam”? Why is that woman dancing on top of a phone booth? this video just blew my mind!!!

  • still god shit! miss my teenage days!

  • @nofd1977 agreed

  • My daughter was conceived to this song.

  • /watch?v=8XFUT2Chvss

  • Vanilla is the man !

  • FANTASTIC SONG !

  • Really... anyone who claims Vanilla Ice was influential to the hip hop genre knows absolutely nothing about hip hop. Vanilla Ice was a corporate construct of vapid pop music. If anything, this guy made it harder for someone like Eminem to succeed.

  • @yodadoe what the hell are you talking about WATCH THE VIDEOS HIS RECORD COMPANY STATED THEY DESTROYED HIS CAREER BY LYING ON HIM AND SAYING HE WAS HARDCORE AND HE NEVER SAID SUCH A THING.

  • @marques10010 The record company lied that he attended school with Luther Campbell, spent most of his times in the ghettos of Miami and had a Honda Motocross sponsorship. The report that he was stabbed five times was true though, Ice still has scars and spent 10 days in the hospital back in 1987.

In real life, Ice spent most of his youth in South Dallas, sold ecstasy trying to fund his records, played in black clubs, opened for N.W.A. and won the grand nationals in motocross in Dallas.

  • I actually like this song, but I think it's sounds really similar to LL Cool J's "I Need Love." Well, whatever, they're both great songs regardless.

  • lol

  • wat year was this?

  • @greatbuilder100 Recorded in 1989. Music video is from 1991.

  • @morbidchid because this is a remake of the original.

  • This song honestly seems like a parody of the music industry. If he was joking, then fine. Lyrics like "When I first saw you, it was love at first sight" are retarded.

  • This is going to be my first dance when I get married word to your mother.

  • @Erix7810 That's creepy.. lol

  • Somehow, i just can't shake the feelin that this is a Rip-off off "LL Cool J's.... I need Love"

  • VANILLA MUCH BETTER EMINEM

  • haters, haters what can i say

  • Lindo! Amo esse cara! ele é lindo até hj!

  • Vanilla Ice looks like Johnny Bravo 'in the flesh" :D

  • thers three things wrong with this guy: 1. he sucks, and 3. hes trying to rap a love song.

  • @Sergent301 L.L. Cool J did it

  • wow! looks like vevo posted a video on how to be a douche bag!!

oh wait.... its just the music video for this song....

  • @MrTsquared88 somehow i think youre not here just to comment on this video.. youre a perfect example of how to be a douche bag. making a video anytime soon? :)

  • @jinxlovesdanno actually i came here cuz i read a thing that michael bay directed this music video, and i wanted to see it. and it turns out, its just a video of vanilla ice being a douche bag. and a song...about vanilla ice being a douche bag. which is embarrassing on michael bays part to say the least... granted the camera angles and scenery and stuff arent too bad, but still, the song sucks and vanilla ice is just a douche bag.

  • Es precisamente la canción que cualquier mujer desearía que se la dedicaran!

    Es preciosa!!!!!!!

  • bonita cancion,.....come on vanilla make a comeback,..now is the time perfect time,...you see all will have now is crappy songs

Ice it doesn't matter what ur points whore or are,...what matters is the fact that ur songs whore unique and fresh,....

We will be waiting for ur come-back Ice

  • linda

  • this is when music was great

  • Grade 6.

  • Actually I like this song..Vanilla Ice was very influential and important to hip hop. Regardless of the negative points about him..he made a path for Eminem to be where he is today. Let's be honest. The first guy is always the fall guy.

  • @MrRainbowquest00 Thats very true. Back in 1990 when Vanilla Ice hit the scene there wasn't the type of marketing schemes, focus groups, demographic research, and social media that exists today. Vanilla Ice was indeed the fall guy. Eminem's handlers looked at what went wrong with Vanilla Ice's career and made sure to avoid those pitfalls as well as take advantage of the newer marketing strategies that we have now. Vanilla Ice's failure helped Em's career immensely.

  • @AlbanianMan

It's funny as Vanilla reportedlyt almost turned Shady off rap!

  • @MrRainbowquest00 ACtually, the Beastie Boys were the first, but I agree, Ice was a huge influence to rap/hip-hop.

  • @MrRainbowquest00 No, not even the least bit. Vanilla Ice was neither influential, nor the first, and has absolutely nothing to do with Eminem's success. A song like this, which is basically LL Cool J's "I Need Love" with terrible lyrics, has very little to none artistic merit, where Eminem actually has skills as a rapper. Saying Vanilla Ice paved the way for Eminem, just because both happen to be white, is also pretty racist. Besides, the Beastie Boys started the whole 'white rapper' thing.

  • There's like three things wrong with this video:

    1) This dude sucks

and, ughh, 3) He's trying to rap a love song.

  • Lemme just say that this song is better than the stupid shit now on the radio talking about a woman's ass and tits. This is a LOVE song, not a hyper-sexual song.

  • @honeykisses1987

Yeah but it's the type doesn't quite work in the rap world. LL learned that the hard way with "I need love" which got him booed off stage a few times.

  • this was the best before all this new stuff

  • Vanilla Ice > Eminem, Bieber

  • Amei Muito linda mesmo esta música não canso de ouvir Vanilla yce voce é demais marcou muitos bons momentos da vida está musica i love you S2

  • Amei muito linda esta misica é da minha época love you S2

  • Clear where Cena took his inspiration form...

  • vanilla ice has good beats but is a TERRIBLE rapper!

  • fuck u this song was the shit

  • this > 90 % of todays rap

  • Wow this song is fucking terrible.

  • michael bay and vanilla ice... could it get any worse?

  • Sounds like the soundtrack to the worst porno ever.

  • WHAT DOES NOT PROVIDE SOME WHAT is WHAT DOES THE HEART OF PLAYS AND PEOPLE THAT MAKE THIS MUSIC VERY MARKED TODAY AND TO MAKE A LOT HERE IN BRAZIL love this song impressed me

  • Amei este video tempos muito bons que não voltam mais que musica

  • Why does she stay on the phone... when he's right there?

  • I love his hard superhero look. Especially in conjunction with a sweet love song.

  • "I need love" ll cool j

  • sorry, but white men should NOT do the box hair thing

  • at the time, this song made sense. Now that I am older, the lyrics are just plain boring...

  • Comment removed

  • Everyone stop hating can't you hear the Ice...he loves you lol

  • I agree. this song goes hard! its as good as any rap love song of the time..think ll cool j. yes he is a poser and yes he is white...but he was good at what he did--bottom line.

  • GREAT TIMES MAN,,,LOVES IN THE AIR

  • snap a finger

  • @Hulk2k6 Whoops; thanks for the correction.

  • This song makes me yearn to make love with my lover atop a phone booth at a gas station off of the interstate. I would cry as I entered my lover again and again, and the drivers would watch us hungrily as they passed by. I would then shed a tear for each of the drivers as my lover and I simultaneously climaxed in the throws of ecstasy. It makes me well up just thinking about it.

  • allright... I like "Ice Ice Baby" alot better than this... :-/

  • To the Extreme is the fastest selling CD of all time!!!! 8 million copies in 8 weeks! Long livve the IceMan!

  • Kenny G´s solo great!!! cool!!!

  • michael jackson

  • pos....chingon,.......en sus años.......ono??

  • Man this just a cheap knock off of LL Cool J's I Need Love and using LL's rap style what a rappin hack lol...

  • @alexarmstrong3 this song does sound good, but @BigPoppaChump i like justin bieber he is just another kid living his dream but VANILLA ICE does seem like he was playin around wen he made alot of his music and videos

  • This is definitely a Rip-off of "I need Love"

  • he did not write this song

  • Drum solo at 0:58 ... Impressive!

  • Michael Bay's best video EVER.

  • "It's a tender hip hop ballad that shamelessly apes LL Cool J's "I Need Love" but does it in such a pussified way it manages to make "I Need Love" sound like "Fuck Da Police" in comparison."

    -Cracked.com

  • @HumanRockDictionary

Yeah if you put an 'R' front of of "apes".

  • you dont sell 11 millions copys by no fluke he was a good artist and dancer

  • @GRINDSHINETV

True but. Let's face it, Mr. Ice was a Flavor of the Month act (Vanilla, Naturally). People got got bored of him quickly and his popularity went South and his career with it. His Turkey of a movie was pulled from cinemas after about three weeks!

  • I bet he watches this now and cringes.

  • If someone asked me who was worse; Justin Beaver or Ice, I will still say Beaver because at least with Ice, back then it wasn't as corny as we think it is now. when he was out, people like him but when you think of it now, you can't help but laugh

  • SAY WHAT U WANT 89-91 EVERYBODY LIKED VI EVN MY OLDER BROTHER SO MANY PEOPLE LIKED HIM AND NOT JUST GIRLS WHEN I GREW UP ALL THE OLDER BLACK KIDS LIKED HIM TO SO STOP FRONTING ALL OF YOU LIKED V.ICE

  • Why can't they make videos like this anymore?

  • best song ever

  • love it why couldnt he stay nornal?

  • LOL Michael Bay directed this video!

  • This is comedy.

  • I dont know which is worse, this song or Hammer's cover of the Chi-Lites' '"Have You seen Her"

  • This song is a VERY underrated, original song that would've received greater recognition and charted better had it been released first before the mediocre Play That Funky Music that wreaked of excessive sampling (following on from Ice Ice Baby). Pushing an original composition first may have just prolonged Vanillas career (in his original persona) just that little bit longer.

  • i think i might get married to this song :P

  • why are you guys haters...this song goes hard!!!!!!!

  • @alexarmstrong3 your mom goes hard

  • @mozfan2436 lmao that is soooo something that i would say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • Ice is better than Eminem but this song was crap

  • @JarrodCook93 Eminem is a nerdy voiced sounding faggot. I don't understand how that queer got so popular and Vanilla ice's career went into the shitter. He's awesome.

  • @JenkemWiseWatermelon

    LOL... You serious?

If you are I'm laughing even harder!

  • @JarrodCook93 atleast eminem didn't sellout

  • I think he's saying I love you to a reflection of himself in the mirror, ha ha ha ! What a homo !

  • I think in this this video he's actually saying I love you to a reflection of himself in the mirror, ha ha ha !!!! What a homo !!!

  • i bet if wayne does a cover of this song with the exact same lyrics and exact same music, people would say it goes hard as fuck;

  • hey guess wut this song sucks

  • "You know how everyone's always saying this guy sucks and putting him down and stuff but... erm.. hehe ehhee... you know he really does suck so.. this is one of those times when everyone's right" - Beavis

  • @raptothecore lmfao! love beavis&butthead.

  • Why are people saying that he was/is a joke ? Seriously ? yeah his vids/songs are weird but that make him his own personal artist.

And dont get me started on the people that are saying about justin friking bieber on VANILLA ICE's video's.

I for one think he is an amazing artist. So if you want to talk about justin bieber go on his videos. I like both artists.

    This is a good song.

So get over it, all you immature people.

  • max headrom

  • hair looks like a diving board

  • WHAT A RIP-OFF .

  • An absolute rip off of LL Cool J's 'I need Love'

  • ColtinNotChicken: Comparing Vanilla Ice to today's music, then saying he isn't THAT bad, is like saying the STDs of the 70s weren't THAT bad compared to AIDS. Given a choice, it's still possible to choose neither. But hey, we're all entitled to our opinions here in the Good Ol' U.S. of A.

  • @jlab80 haha

  • You people don't understand.

Ice didn't want this pop image, he only did it for money. After "To The Extreme" album, he became the rapper he wanted to be.

  • this guy sucks

  • Vanilla Ice is a genius compared to todays music.Really he isn't THAT bad

  • V Ice was and is bad ass. iIts funny because when V Ice comes on every one knows all the words to the songs....

  • wonderfull is this music

  • r this I went an watched the movie, "Cool As Ice" whereupon my friends and I were granted the privelege of being one of the first to hear the famous line, "Words of wisdom. Drop that zero and get with the hero". There were a lot of girls who thought Vanilla Ice was hot too. He really was popular. Now I look back and chuckle because even HE hated the hair and costumes his promotion people made him wear (quoted in recent interviews) lol

  • Killer lyrics.

"I love you, because I love you"

It's like a fifth grader wrote his rhymes. Or, shit, I could write better rhymes than that in the fifth grade. What a fucking tool, an enormous festering boil on the ass-end of commercial rap music.

  • Vanilla Ice is the best because he's White:)

All the other rappers in that day were Black and that means they were beneath the Ice...

  • If you were there in 1990 you will understand was Vanilla Ice was on Top. He was the first White Mega Rapper that dances, Eminem should kiss his feet

  • If a black guy joined the Klu Klux Klan voluntarily and was the president of the Adolf Hitler fan club even he would have more credibility and admiration from the African American community than the black guys in this video.

  • I'd be so embarrassed if I was one of the girls dancing in the video.

  • this is F**cking GAY!!!

  • Totally a rip off of LL COOL Js "I Need Love". Vanilla Ice was shameless. That is why he failed and crashed so hard. He thought no one would notice that this was a ripoff just like he thought no one would notice he ripped off the Queen song. Completely clueless. That is why he fell.

  • @mozfan2436 i second that lol such an embarrasing song

  • @mozfan2436 Wrong. He never thought he would be a worldwide Succes. The label that doesn't pay royalties for each sale of record it makes, and u blame only the VI? If he wasn't that mainstream, Queen and Bowie would never knew about him. At that time till today a lot of ppl is taking samples from others. The problem is that in the past in the rap comunity was kind of normal to do this without causing too much problem to the original writters.

LL Cool J Total rip off without the same sample???

  • @pitlee Ripoffs aren't just about taking a sample from the original song. You gotta get outta that mindframe. What I am suggesting is that he and his record producer sat down and said "Let's make a Vanilla Ice verison of "I Need Love"." It's a total bite of the LL Cool J song with the same vibe, tempo, feel and theme. A "hardened" rapper that goes soft for a moment to talk about love. Only, with LL's song it seemed genuine and believable,

  • @pitlee .... whereas the Vanilla Ice song comes off as a corny and cheesy wannabe of the LL Cool J version. This is a blatant ripoff of the original, If you don't see that, I would suggest you go back and listen to LL's song a couple times, and then come back and listen to this one. If you still don't see how it's a total wannabe copycat then there is no hope for you. Sorry.

  • WATCH THE PARODY. CUTEST THING YOU WILL EVER SEE!!

  • Is this serious?

  • A complete rip off of LL Cool J's "I Need Love". And Vanilla Ice was NOT the king of his time, he was an absolute joke in 1990.

  • LMFAO! ol wanna be LL COOL J lookin ass lol

  • LMFAO!

  • THIS IS SO WRONG LMAO

  • this shit aint nothin... its a blatent rip off of LL Cool J's "I need love"

  • this song just touched me in places i didnt even know where there! HELP!

  • this song sucks! its gei!

  • gosh! i thought he raps? but why this?

    it's so cheeesssy!

i think i might throw up...

  • Comment removed

  • Gangsters don't say "i love you" to a woman.

Not saying that I don't say love to my woman, but as a rap artist aren't you supposed to be speaking for the people..? Lol

  • I hate to say this but this song makes me horny. He sounds hot as hell in song

  • The Guys in the Video are the ones in the Bathroom Scene in "Lean On Me". Riff, they also sang the theme for "White Men Can't Jump"!

  • 3:46 I can't believe no one notice that LOL. I wonder if he is even taking it serious.

  • @nameor im not defending vanilla ice, but he was clearly under the thumb of record execs. i'm pretty sure he was aware that he was a puppet to the industry and a joke to his peers. i doubt he took any of his"rap" career serious lol

  • Taking a break from censoring the shit out all the videos they sponsor, Vevo is generously offering free shotguns for anyone who wants to blow their fucking brains out after watching this. I just ordered mine...I'll be dead in 4-6 business days. Peace YouTube!

  • @Themazz007 LOL

  • LMFAO, this was rated as the worst music video ever on yahoo.

  • this is about 110 pounds of shit. if you ever want to rape someones ears and eyes send them to this video.

  • wow. this does sound just like LL's I need love. What a rip off!

  • @tamuc08 i thought the same exact thing. And of course LL's version is a millions times better.

  • Wow, what a LL rip off.....

  • @mckraze87 I thought the exact same thing.

  • LMAO.

    Cancerous.

  • Note to Master P and Bow Wow (re: I Need Dubs) of you're gonna rip off I Need Love from LL Cool J, do it right! LMAO!

  • i may be mistaken but that guy who's singing backup looks and sounds a lot like the guy who sings the chorus in tupac's "i ain't mad at cha"

  • excelente cancion!

  • This it very good song for love it

  • look at that hes tryng to copy hammer

  • @tulio1211 this actually sounds just like LL's "i need love"; the beat and the whispered lyrics

  • lmao you just have to laugh at this

    "I love you...cause I love you" ? haha wow.

  • This song would of been tight if the lyrics or better yet 100% of the song was NOT bitten. But then again, Vanilla Ice may have been the victim of negligance of the record companies cause they may have took a copyrighted song and told Vanilla Ice that it will be a good idea to rap the whole thing out.

  • 3:17 to 3:38 cracks me up everytime... girl get off the phone and look over HES RIGHT THERE!

  • omg...one of my favorites songs!! thanks

  • so this is where conan got his hairstyle from.

  • this is possibly one of the worst songs of all time!
