@happyjessus Don't worry, I like Nightwish too, but the question is they aren't Gothic Metal, so I don't know why someone says Nightwish, Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, Epica are Gothic instead of alternative or symphonic metal. I truly believe that Paradise Lost are the creators of Gothic Metal (even if it isn't their main genre). I think Gothic Metal is near to the Doom Metal and also Death Metal, so it haven't to be keybords in this genre. Instead in symphonic keybords are essential

@happyjessus Nosferatu is classified "Gothic Rock" and you are perfectly rigth. Gothic Metal have influences not only from Doom metal but also from Gothic Rock and Death Rock and Nosferatu are one of the band who are near Goth metal, but they aren't aggressive enough to be considered metal. I haven't in mind no bands whose name is God and so on. Sorry
