It is with deep sadness to inform you that John (a teaching colleague of mine at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 3, 2009.
May you forever rest in peace, John, and may your exemplary playing continue to thrill and entertain YouTubers around the globe!
Beautiful playing! Any chance you will record and post videos of you playing your Glyph replica Octavianno Nunes Machete de Braga? I heard you play it live a bit over a year ago, and can't think of a time I was more moved by a "uke" performance. It would be wonderful to have your superb interpretations of those unique (Madeiran?) compositions (performed on your extraordinary machete) preserved for posterity on Youtube.
Exquisite play as always! When you played guitar did you play classical or some finger picking style? I just wondered how you developed suc a smooth style.
Gosh, I would loved to have met John.

He made the world a better place by sharing his love of Hawaiian music and talent for playing it.
RIP dear friend.

Nice and clean John. Are you in standard tuning (GCEA) or an open form?
Thanks, Johnny Pal of MangoDaville

It's amazing to hear you play so cleanly with those Sevovia-sized fingers on that tiny ukulele. To state the obvious: fantastic performance.
