If I remember correctly, Mahbub Alam said he was from Chittagong in the Korean movie "Bandhobi". Assuming he's speaking the Chittagong dialect, that probably explains why his Bengali dialect would be hard to understand for most other Bengalis who are not from Chittagong.
He is not speaking Chittagonian, he is just not very fluent in bengali. that is all. he is not bad dont get me wrong.
