What do moral values have to do with religion? Any religion! Well, nothing. You can't just start a movement and identify yourself with some set of values for a few centuries, or a couple of thousand years, and then expect to be the founder of those values. I'm a big Carlin fan. He's one of the greatest ever. But to me the physical side og his comedy is his only flaw. I don't care much for funny faces and flailing arms.
@MrWrof He didn't really do physical comedy that much. You could count the number of funny faces he does on his last 4 or 5 acts on your hands without running out of fingers. The only time he did these faces and arm flailing was to accentuate his anger at an issue or people.

George Carlin had a tendency to exaggerate in order to make his jokes funnier. There is some truth to what he said but he was definitely an extremist and an exaggerator. In fact, only about 25% of the things he said were true and 75% were exaggerations (in order to get people's attention.) But he believed in what he said as he was an extremist. Everything was either black or white to him, but nothing was in between. He was a sensasionalist and used sensasionalism to get people's attention.

I'm a big Carlin fan. He's one of the greatest ever. But to me the physical side og his comedy is his only flaw. I don't care much for funny faces and flailing arms.

@MrWrof He didn't really do physical comedy that much. You could count the number of funny faces he does on his last 4 or 5 acts on your hands without running out of fingers. The only time he did these faces and arm flailing was to accentuate his anger at an issue or people.

I remember the day I got the txt message Carlin died, a few months before that I got to see him live for the only time, it was a highlight of my life and I honor that memory to this day and carry his wisdom with me everywhere i go, RIP George, NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!!!

Actually, the definition of agnosticism is that we can't know about the existence of god, ever. Which is, in my opinion, pretty presumptuous. I mean, who's to say we'll never know whether or not god exists? And if this is not what you believe, then don't call yourself an agnostic, I'm tired of people who think that agnosticism just means "I don't know and I don't care." Atheism - a lack of belief in gods, that's about it.

Such a mind fuck to the theistic brain. At no surprise was the idea of hell created from things LIVING beings experience. I use to believe in xtianity so after realising no body = no pain, I tried to use the emotion claim. If we can feel pain and emotion in hell we can addapt to them.

George Carlin had a tendency to exaggerate in order to make his jokes funnier. There is some truth to what he said but he was definitely an extremist and an exaggerator. In fact, only about 25% of the things he said were true and 75% were exaggerations (in order to get people's attention.) But he believed in what he said as he was an extremist. Everything was either black or white to him, but nothing was in between. He was a sensasionalist and used sensasionalism to get people's attention.

Let's say that's all true. The fact that he got people to think, and develop that critical thinking habit is what makes what he said important and what makes his stuff that much more meaningful. Carlin figured it all out a long time ago, and with his detached demeanor has been trying to tell people to wake up.

I'm not big on Seinfeld, but as a Carlin fan I respect the friendship these two very different artists shared.
Seinfeld's reminiscences of his old friend were kind and heartfelt.
I don't get some of the Jerry-bashing here. He didn't have to say these things about Carlin. I appreciate that he did.
