In Europe you really don't spend that much time in prison. IN the US they want us in prison, as the prisoners make liscince plates, call centers for airlines, and host of other things that they do.

We cant have arms licenses unless we are farmers or have hunting permits at £1000 per day, and hand guns just are not allowed. We can only use hunting rifles. Down here we have a tax rate that is killing us, inflation, and chronic social services. Right now I make more money than the average bloke, but with the high cost of living, I don't get anywhere. The poor don't get social services if they make to much, so they don't add to the economy, they take from it! Or they work under the table and collect social services.

What kind of labor do they do in prison besides cook, clean and laundry? I'm suprised they get paid, but I guess they'll need money for buying stuff, I dont know what, pens, cigarettes, drugs? When you realise just how many people there are in prison in the USA, it sort of starts to make sense why you still have the death penalty. I doubt many people are punished by it these days, but still, you would think that would seriously deter people comiting crimes.

It really depends on the crimes committed. There are nowhere near the number of homocides as in the USA. We cant have arms licenses unless we are farmers or have hunting permits at £1000 per day, and hand guns just are not allowed. We can only use hunting rifles. Even our police officers are not armed with guns unless in airports, but that is only since 9/11.
You get 10 years just for canabis possession in the uk and life for possession of a fire arm.

The point is, although the USA are not the highest perpetrators of gun related homicides, they do have a hand gun culture that significantly enables homicide. Our education system is pretty good really. Its mathematics and the sciences all the way. They teach a good deal about WW2 & foreingn languages are compulsory. Start at 8, finish at 4. 5 days a week.
If you're lucky, you get one class out of your whole education that teaches you about safe sex and drugs, but not until you are a senior at high school.
You should take a look at our drug and alcohol abuse adds, they're quite explicit.

Look we over here work the longest hours in Europe,I don't know how expensive your house prices are but where I live a 1 bedroom apartment cost about $220,000 & the ave house price across all the country is about $400,000, for a 3 bedroom house your looking at min $500,000 how much do you pay for your fuel because it's $10 a gallon & going up every day. Even if a women wanted to stay at home you just can't afford to do it.You would hope that your partner get's as good a paying job as possible

Of course, she is always skilled in the martial arts and is always a scantily clad ravishing beauty. If a gay man gets into a fight, he must win every time. Actually, a lot of feminist groups have jumped on Hollywood for presenting unrealistic images of women, when they're not portrayed as full human beings, but as images that men can ogle over. Notice when it comes to nude scenes; the only women who get nude are shapely and slender. On the other hand, the only men we see with their shirts off are hard bodies with washboard stomachs. This sets an impossible standard that both sexes feel they need to meet up to in feeling attractive.

That is a two-edged sword. In Canada people have to wait in line, but in the United States, millions can't afford the insurace for health care and get no treatment at all. The people in countries with health plans live longer; the anxiety and stress is sharply reduced when sickness comes along. I heard a Dutch immigrant on TV say, "America is a great country, but don't get sick here." Doctors make big bucks while patients get wiped out.

Down here we have a tax rate that is killing us, inflation, and chronic social services. Right now I make more money than the average bloke, but with the high cost of living, I don't get anywhere. The poor don't get social services if they make to much, so they don't add to the economy, they take from it! Or they work under the table and collect social services.
It is a matter of priorities. Many health care programs start at $100.00 per month! 8 million in coverage!
