  • just far 2 breathy!

  • @club1967 ok? :/

  • @NickDrake101 by breathy he means you need less on the attack so the notes hit quicker.

  • Howdy fellow gaia user. How did you create this patch, what waves etc?

    sounds nice!

  • @Gulielmi87 Hey there! gaia player, and thanks greatly for the compliment..I really appreciate it. Well, It's been over a year now so I don't remember every detail of how I made it except the the instruction in the comments (from 11 months ago)..those instructions pretty much created that patch. ~Walt

  • The opening phat dark patch. I WANT IT SOO MUCH! D:!!!

Has that Industrial feel that I want to eat!

  • @TheLynxie LOL I know what you mean...the Gaia can really does get some really phat sounds...and its not at all that hard to push that envelope to make these patches. thanks! : )

  • how was it possible the first part fine till the end some what muddled..

  • 100% quality, you do my missions justice....Nice signal all round

  • @caine7sfg Thanks for commenting! I really appreciate that! : )

  • sorry but this sounds like thin digital crap compared to the polymoog. i think the likers need a decent pair of monitors

  • @cprostudio. i agree. People should not expect Gaia to sould like or replace the original real analog. VA is a fake pretend analog. but i like Gaia for the digital sound it can do. if people want analog sound they should get real analog.

  • @cprostudio I think you need to realise its Youtube LOL

  • @jimmy08LTFC I'm glad somebody finally chimed in on that comment : )

  • Great video! Thanks for posting this and your settings!!

  • @Hopper3513 Your welcome...happy to do it! :)

  • @b00vysalford that's great...you can't go wrong with the gaia that's for certain...thanks for letting me know..i'll keep my eyes open for your stuff. cheers.

  • @b00vysalford Thanks mate..appreciate that..not much to it: Firstly, it's patch bank 5 number 3. Then switch on the 3rd oscillator that's the one you're going to work with. Set it up in the filter section with LTF. cutoff around 2pm. A-0 D-8 S-8 R10 Effects, Panning Delay, Pitch Shift, Tempo Sync. That's really about all there is. Cheers.. ~Walt

  • This sounded awesome :D

Im just browsing around trying to decide what to buy as my first synth. Deciding between Microkorg, Microkorg XL, Roland Juno DI or this Gaia. Favorite music genre would be ambient, electro, vangelis :) and sound design.. any suggestions?

  • @Gulielmi87 One thing i really like about the Gaia is that you just turn it on, and go. There's no fooling around with any menus. There's more playing instead of wondering. Sure software menus have their advantage of more customizing, but there's also a lot to be said of the "old school" approach of just finding a basic sound and adjusting it on the fly. I like the Microkorg XL. It's a great synth (not the R3..too buggy). I can't say about the Roland. You have to try them out. Many thanks :)

  • @NickDrake101

Have decided to go for the Gaia :)

  • that was fucking well cool almost exactly like on Micromusic

  • @DerVampyrEngel hey thanks mate :)

  • IN CARS!!..lol..very fucking awesome!..i can't wait till the end of next month to get mine..my eyes hurt from always practicing on the computer soft synth..seeing these videos is exciting me more..i will filter it through a korg monotron..

  • @ZaZaZoo22 lol...ha, i know exactly what you mean. It can be a drag just having the softsynths alone. I found out the hard way! :\ Some can be great for the convenience factor, but for me, personally, I really got pissed off with computer problems related to softsynths and my DAW..Pro Tools. They still have their place in the recording studio,, but now they are just an afterthought. Thanks for commenting..Cheers

  • @NickDrake101 lol.you just reminded me of my old computer something really bad happen to it and no matter what I couldn't get it to stay on..and then my external hard drive broke down with about 5 years of songs and samples on it...i wanted to beat the hell out of my computer...question..i would like to be able to play the gaia on a stereo reciever..is the only option i have an aux input?..what about 1/4 inch plugs on speakers? can i make a direct connection..or a guitar amp with aux?..thanks

  • @ZaZaZoo22 I'd go with the guitar amp, that's definatly ok. The receiver might not be able to handle a strong load though. I'd be real careful about that. What I did was use an rca audio to usb converter, and just played through my computer speakers.. though that's just when I want to hear myself without headphones. I rarely do that because of computer lag. If you can get a direct box that would take care of it for you. $20-30 tops. Walt

  • @NickDrake101 now with a direct box i would plug the gaia into it and the box would go out to??? Thanks for you help I appreciate it.

  • @ZaZaZoo22 Well, from what you've already told me..your stereo receiver. But forget the direct box if you have the amp just plug it in there. Use a Y adapter as you mentioned.. cheers.

  • can't wait to try this with mine!

  • @009relic1 cool! another Gaia owner! : ) great to see you here!

  • Nice job really good!

  • @carlmacki Hey Carl thanks for stopping by : )

  • i sell these buggers, they are awesome, well done on this,

check out matt jessup me i disconnect from you.

  • @emjay946 alright! a seller! thanks for saying matt i'll check your stuff out deffo thanks. walt

  • Love Gary Numan....just an excellent job on this Walt....very nice patch. :) Janet

  • @onewomanandsomesongs Thank you Janet it means a lot to me you saying that! : ) Walt

  • Many thanks for the advice, I've got two patches saved which are both the closest I've managed to get to this sound for nigh on 25 years. Top end on the keys still sound a bit too much like a Vangelis lead on mine though. The 'red light' super saw seems to work best. Sounds like there's some pitch effect from the lfo and haven't yet got the settings quite there- look forward to the tutorial video. Isn't the Gaia great though?!

  • @Kafkabinkles Great! Looks like you just about have it. I'll try and get a tutorial up before weeks end...not sure I can though 'cause I'm working long days...but maybe I might get some time in. I'll suss more out later tonight, and follow up for you. Yeah, the Gaia is top...instant classic I say...Cheers

  • I think this patch is brilliant. I'd love to see a tutorial video on the settings for this as my efforts don't even come close on my Gaia.

  • @Kafkabinkles Thank you...I think I can do that for you ASAP. In the the meantime, just try bank 3, number 5. Work with the filter, and make sure you use flanger (30-40%), and lo boost for oscillator 3. PS. use amp release and attack, too. Please let me know if this works for you. Thanks for commenting..

    Walter

  • @Kafkabinkles also sine wave on the lfo and rate to around 12:30. also on the oscillator make sure you use a variation on the supersaw wave. in addition, besides flange and lo boost, make sure that you have panning delay set in the effects. Hope this helps..

  • Very good Walt. Orchestral! Nice cover. I've never heard the original. All the best.

  • @busywave Hey Mark..I know I'm always picking the obscure stuff: The Polymoog patch here is the staple sound for Numan's 1979 hit "Cars"

    Thank you much!

  • Hi Walt!

Pretty crazy! You've really perfected your craft; you're ONE of a kind :)

Thanks for sharing; all stars *******

    cheers

    julie

  • @buniluvr Hey Julie, thanks for the compliment..you are a true friend!

All the best to you Julie..

    walt

  • Added to my favs this one.

  • @Synthsound1 really chuffed here tonight!!!!! : ) thanks Dave!

  • Massive -powerful-beautiful sound. Nice work wal, i see what you mean, i think this beats the virus hands down, its the movement in the sound that makes it so authentic.

  • @Synthsound1 naw dave don't go there the virus is top, but i'll take a leap and say maybe the Gaia...well..maybe it's a bit more "poly" than the alesis fusion...maybe quite a bit more than the vsm! : ) kidding to dave spears LOL! i love the vsm 100%! Tweaking the movements was nothing Dave: just needed to put in a little filter attack, release, cutoff envelope depth, & flange.. honestly dave...this is my first real synth, and it's so easy to tweak what you want--could use a blindfold! Cheers!

  • @NickDrake101 Well the filters really do the job here, flange helps too.Thats how a synth should be easy for anyone to tweak, not having to go through pages of menus to change sound,to let your ears do the tweaking from the front synth knobs.
