  • thanks for the close up videos and narrative. Good job

  • Nice work :)

  • and did you used a duc tape or something to stick the ailerons to the wing ?

  • did you glued servos to the foam ?

  • Does that motor mount work well, does it protect the motor?

  • What ESC do u use?

  • I loved this 'Father and Son' video. Am building the same model out of Coro and found your video entertaining and very helpful. From your accent (your English DOES NOT suck) you are either an ex pat Indian or Pakistani. Whatever, I wish you all the very best.

Your son is AWESOME and he is the real star of the show. Wish we could see a little bit more of him.

5 stars from me, any day!

  • actually yah u have it switched. when you move the stick to the right, the left aileron goes up. when you move the stick to the left, it should life the right aileron and make the left aileron g odown...... you probably crashed it if you flew it with them switched.

  • I have just downloaded the plans for the plan! this is my first rc homade plane! i gonna buy depron tomorrow..

  • @thelittel0 Dont use depron. Use EPP. I made the same mistake. For the beginners depron is not recommended. This was a big mistake I made. I spend 95% of my time fixing this plane. I made many EPP planes since then and they all turned out to be excellent. EPP is easy to build, more durable, and best of all easy to repair.

  • @yah1248 Ok but i have no i dea where i can get epp..

sorry for my bad english but i am from norway so my english sucks..

  • @thelittel0 I buy epp foam from rcfoam .com

  • Where Your bought you servo Rods?

  • You built it quite well but you unnecessarily added to much weight by adding the carbon reinforcement in the fuselage and by adding toothpics too hold the wings together. Also a 30 amp ESC is waaay too much, a 10 amp is much more suitable and is much lighter. A lighter plane is much easier to fly and is less likely to get damaged when crashed.

  • what type of foam did you use?

  • @Pinchodafrog This one is Dupron. But I recommend you build it with EPP. I did not know about EPP when I built this one.

  • good job on da plan dude ! must bee nice to have a helper lil good job lil man nice video.

  • I built mine in 5 hours

  • Nice buildup of the rcpowers extra 300. Looks Really nice.

  • 9 gram servo?

  • Thanks for this video... especially nice for a beginner like me, since you show how everything is hooked up and attached. Obviously an engineer! :-)

  • You don't need to use a carbon in the fuselage

  • great video! You really show all of the mechanical parts and wiring that alot of others leave out. I know a few beginners who have really gotten alot of easy questions answered watching this video. Also great job explaining how you got the wings to go together. In fact, since the RCPowers plans did not explain this well, I chose not to build this plane as my first. If I had seen your video first, I probably would have tried it....thanks alot!

  • get the dx7!!

  • Hello, I also got the electronics from HK, but all the servos were reversed when turned on the radio. Did you experience the same? I did not buy the connection cable (did not know at that time)

I wanted to ask you if had the same problem, and if so, How did you solve it?

By the way, the video was very useful for me, thanks for posting it!

  • @hermosillad Glad it helped. The servos can be reversed by programming your controller. You need to hook up your controller with the computer using the usb cable and use the tconfig software to reverse the servos. I guess when you say "cable" you mean the usb cable that connects the controller with the computer and you did not buy it. I guess you will have to buy the cable. Makes it a lot easy. The other more intrusive option is to detach the servos and reattach them reversed.

  • You should put your control horns as close to the hinge point of the surface so you can get more throw.

I think, the plane is too heavy to fly.

    good luck anyway...

  • @Bucker131Jungmann I agree and much more inboard.

  • your plane is so clean it makes mine look like it wrecked, broke into 20 pieces, and got glued back together. i like to use a 10x7 slow flyer prop it makes it so you can fly at slower speeds and its easier to land. ty for the video

  • great cool

  • sup dude please can u tell me where u live.

mai india, delhi mai rehta hoon aur mujhe yeh bata sakte ho ki aapko epp foam ya depron kitne rupees mai mila?aur apne wings ko main body par kaise attach kiya? please mujhe bata do i really need to know!!

  • Also I use Welder's Glue to glue EPP pieces together. It is the best glue for EPP. I am not sure if you will be able to get it in India though.

  • Hi, nicely done.

Hope you lew it well... ;)

Now I nned to build this one too... Already got myself one of Dave's famous Wild Hawks and his eBook..

    Happy Landings

  • hey man.i need the sizes of this plane parts.i will make a plane by myself without plans but i need the motor type, battery type, the weight and the sizes of wing and body.just theese ones.if u give me the informations i will be happy. =)

  • just get the plan off of rcpowers

  • heey nice plane )))) good information

  • Thanks.

  • hello my name is munsaf

from Pakistan, Gujranwala what is the transmitter total range?

jab ap ny transmitter hobbyking website sy magwaya tha to kitny din main poncha tha gher or gher a k bhi kiya us ny passy liya thy main bhi hobby king sy plane ky electronics parts magwany hain main ny pahli dafa plane bnana hy kiya ap mari help karain gy?

  • Don't know the range. But it is 2.4GHz and people are saying that they can fly the plane so far away that it is hard to see and it still controls it.

Mein Pakistan se hoon but Pakistan mein naheen rehta. Mein ne express shipping karwai thi. Aik hafte men saman a gaya tha.

I can help you as much as I can. Just send me private messages if you need any help or post here whatever is good for you.

  • I think this plane is under-powered not because of the motor , but because of the propeller...

use an 11 x 4 Master Airscrew Prop,

The one ur using is probably 8 x 4 Slow Flyer Prop....

BTW what are you doing ?? I mean are you an aeronautical engineer or some thing ??

    Just askin..

oh and nice video (again lol :)

  • No the motor shown here is under powered and can't take any bigger prop. I now have much more powerful motors that work better on this plane. However one mistake is definitely to start with Depron. Should never do that. For beginners EPP is the best. I have already built many planes with EPP now and the results are fantastic.

  • And thanks for appreciating the video. And I am an engineer but not an aeronautical engineer. This is just a hobby.

  • cool vid and accent

Was thinking of building one of these planes as my first into the rcplane world but i was trying to justify the price of the parts. Any thoughts?

  • Thanks for appreciating the video and the accent :)

First off, this plane was built with depron - a big mistake. Depron is very brittle and when the plane crashes (which it will trust me) you have to go through a full repair cycle. I have built another plane-EPPYAK 55 (rcgroups) - with EPP. EPP is the best foam for the beginners. It is very crash resistant and much lighter. So overall weight of the plane is much lower and the plane flies slower, handles better even with lighter smaller motor.

  • okay thanks for the advice with the foam

  • i like your accent, and REALLY NICE WORk, but when i finish mine, i will post a response to your video

  • Thanks for appreciating my video and my accent :) I would love to see your plane. I changed the motor on it (the one showing is under-powered), and today I was finally able to fly it. If you haven't started making it yet, and if you are not an expert pilot, I would recommend to use EPP instead of depron, since EPP is far more flexible and crash resistant. I have crashed it many times (mainly because of under-powered motor) and had to repair it almost always after the crash. Just a suggestion.

  • it looks like your plane is nose heavy.....

correct me if i am wrong

  • If I hold it from where the CG is supposed to be, which is about an inch from the start of the "cockpit" (the big "+" sign on the fuselage in the plan), the plane balances level. I have attached the battery (as well as other components like the receivers and ESC) with velcro. So I can move the battery back and forth to make it nose heavy or tail heavy. Before the electrical components (airframe only), the plane was very tail heavy, but motor and battery help in balancing it.

  • oh ok cool....

what is the weight of the airframe only ?(excluding the battery, motors, electronics and pushrods) ??

BTW are you from India ? cause you sound like that and even your son looks like that... jus askin...

  • I am sorry I never measured the weight of the airframe alone. But with all the electrical components (including the heavy 1550 mAH 2s battery) the weight is almost 420 gm or about 15oz. The motor turned out to be underpowered for that kind of weight, so the plane did not actually fly :( So I have ordered a couple of more powerful motors and 3s battery, and will try it out again next week.

And I am from Pakistan. You?

  • oh ok,

    I am from India itself

  • beautiful.....

    5/5 stars..

  • Thank you so much.

  • good video

hello you said the plane didnot fly i have the same motor fc-1600 since its cheap

but what the thrust the motor supports

and the current draw using 8*4.3 prop
