ummm... dude, you realize if you get one cold burst of air right up that open down pipe that your turbo fins will warp? then you can say good bye to your beautiful hx-35! ya it makes your car loud and furious and gives you that nice sown spool but so does a 3in strait pipe! i would fix that before you loose your precious turbo!

gaaaa i hate open turbos a guy in my town has a olds alero with a open turbo and it sounds like shit when hes drivin it so do a drivin vid maybe a eclipse will sound better

At what RPM did you see full boost with that huge housing? And what did you have the boost set at?

Once I had the car tuned well I was seeing 26psi(which it was set at) by around 3800rpm. The cams(HKS 272) I added later didn't really seem to delay it much. I imagine if I had put a full exhaust system on it would have spooled a little bit faster, but sacrifice some top end. The entire time I ran this turbo I only had a 1 foot 3" downpipe.

negative, stock holset huge divided t3 housing, i believe it is 16cm. still have the turbo setup, dont have the car anymore, but looking for another currently.

Did you use a "regular" T3 mani or twin scroll?

Have done any head mods or you just drop that turbo with everything stock? I got a HX35w T3 divided also but 12cm. exhaust and Im planning on run it onto a Vw 1.8 8v ported head with street/strip cam you think will it be too much for it? Im looking to make about 300-350 horses I`ll really Appreciate your opinion.

I had HKS 272 cams(few months after this video was made), stock head otherwise. I'm not really familiar with VW stuff but these turbos are quite efficient and would do 300-350hp without breaking a sweat and while keeping the air temps nice and low, but I'd recommend a good intercooler in any case.

Was just a eBay 'streetimports' intercooler, pretty cheap but worked well.

Just a bad connection, works fine with a little bump of the clutch pedal while holding the key, lol.

The car is not finished yet, but with no exhaust and a big boost leak I still hit 15psi at 3800RPM :)
