As for USA, a high % of total population is apparently Christian (mostly Protestant), and most people in the US are religious, so it is not surprising that more religious people go to jail than non-religious people. As for USA, a high % of total population is apparently Christian (mostly Protestant), and most people in the US are religious, so it is not surprising that more religious people go to jail than non-religious people. China has really high crime rates too, and most Chinese people after Cultural Revolution are non-religious, don't leave them out...

They are easily converted because scripture says you can be a sick evil predator and still go to "heaven", no matter what you do, but what you believe in. Easy bargain. Most religious prisoners are sure they're going to heaven, that's why they pray, spread the word and carry crosses. Easy ticket out.

99% posed no risk of death to mother
99% involved no medical emergency

The moral's of the mother should be the only thing that matters, because at the end of the day, making legislation against it wouldn't stop the abortions.
It is all about education before the fact, and if the pregnancy compromises the life of the mother and the baby, especially if the baby is nothing but a lump of tissue for the first third of the pregnancy, why should it not be aborted.
No one wants to have an abortion, sometimes it is necessary.

With a degree in Medicine your not just limitted to working in a hospital. You can go into research in which there is plenty of jobs. MD's are not involved with causing death's but preventing them. The top cause of death in America (according to the CDC) is heart disease.
