T-Mobile G1 Hardware Overview

I ran out and bought a G1 when it came out, worst mistake ever. Big, clunky and uncomfortable when using it. And it's suppose to have all these 3rd party apps? Pffft.. Not even a 1/32 of the Iphones 3rd party apps.

how?? have you used the phone?

tell me how a barcode scanner that can search the local area and the internet for the best price is "suckish". yes there not the greatest apps. but the os is open source. the iphone didnt even allow 3rd party apps for almost a year, and there still restricted to what apple likes. and apples had over a year of customer feedback and bug fixes. the g1 just came out a little over a month ago and it's already come a long way. it's a very solid competitor.

Its not hard to type. You don't feel that "chin" part of it at all when typing. The camera button doesn't LAUNCH the application either...you still have to tap on it on the screen....the button just shoots the picture. This phone is decent but not an iphone competitor in my opinion.

This looks like a bubble gum phone. I don't know why the comparisons came up with the iPhone. Plus, T-Mobile sucks! My friend has one of these phones and the maps took forever to load.

well not everyone needs the maps 24/7. i mean for real, when are you going to use maps when ur a teenager with a phone? it's like the sidekick, a teenybopper phone..

yea im not to thrilled about the G1 really, the device is a bit well ugly i guess, but android looks awesome, im almost tempted to pick up a G1 since its the only device with android at the moment...

3 times better than the iphone and half the price in the UK and a keyboard so the best fone in the world at the moment
