  • @doctormasterdevil i was sleeping with when you kept applying the same comment over and over again. i get a lot of comments, so It's easier to find which ones I haven't replied to yet because they have "approve" buttons next to them. it even tells you your comment needs to be approved. it's all good, thanks for subscribing!

  • alright dude im back,i just cleaned up my fan, and yup it was about as dirty as yours...but the noise thing..im pretty sure its the fan is still goin on :( this lenovo is about a yr old so i dont know whats goin on n no i dont have warranty im not in the states anymore :( help!

  • thanks dude...idk what model mine is but just a bit yesterday and constantly since about 2 hours ago mine has been sounding like hell my fan idk what the hell i guess were just gonna have to open it up see what the hell im a noob :(

  • @wwjoshdew can you get out the video card?

  • @abdelbaser1 nope. it's part of the motherboard.

  • cleaned out my cpu fan lot dust and fluff was blowing hard before cant hardly hear it now

  • what else can u add to it if you take stuff out?

  • @jalstonletsplay huh? What else can you get to or clean?

  • @wwjoshdew like can u add new hardware

  • @jalstonletsplay like a new processor, yes!

  • @wwjoshdew really dude? u saying I can upgrade the cpu on my g550??

  • @exomorphe YES! You can! You just have to find one that will fit! It's right there, in front of your face! Just a couple screws (and voiding your warranty) will get the old one out!

  • @wjoshdew What i hold in my hands is an hp pavilion dv 7 BEAST

    sYstem specs:Intel Core i7 3.45 Ghz(overclocked)

    Windows 7 ultimate 6 4-bit

    Nvidia geforce 540 m 3 Gb

    8 GB ddr3 memory

    128 GB SDD hard drive

  • @wwjoshdew there isnt a ink.I bought it on ebay.It was the only one, but I think there are more there. When I Go to speedfan I see when im playing it is only 43 degrees max.And when not doing anything only 20-33 degrees.I bought it for 50 bucks

  • i have a PRo fan in my laptop

  • @SirRunescapeLoL never heard of that... link? message it to me please. i'll add it to the description of this video and give you credit!

  • that poor laptop, listen to it's screams :p

  • @kassie2k4 that's my loud daughter! this was back when we had a smaller place. now my daughter is in school and we live in a bigger place. so she isn't in the background anymore. :-)

  • Does it really effect the heating and cooling

and one more thing , i have the exact same laptop

the fan stops spinning every once in a while

    is that normal ?

  • @ezioauditore392 if it's not spinning, then your system is cool! once it gets to a certain temperature, that I am unaware of, it will start spinning again. and yes, if the fan is clogged, then no air will be able to enter and leave your laptop.

  • @wwjoshdew its not recommended to put this thing on a bed or on my lap

i never tried cleaning the fan cuz im afraid i will ruin it by mistake

  • @ezioauditore392 if for just a moment or two, it's ok. :-) just not for an extended amount of time. and I actually bought a cooler master U2 that my laptop always sits on now. it comes with two fans, but I don't use them because they really don't make much of a difference. the little rubber nubs don't let the laptop sit off the ground that much, or much at all. and this thing elevates it very well! it stays pretty cool without the two fans.

  • @wwjoshdew isnt that fan way too small for the whole laptop

  • ur hands were shaking , fans dont bite dude :D

  • @ezioauditore392 you have NO IDEA what kind of dreams I have had dude! lol

  • @wwjoshdew lol yeah i get what u mean , my hands shake alot when i touch pc specs like fans and video cards and all that stuff

  • I own a G550 since January 2010.. It is a powerful machine for it's cost but it's not a LAPTOP. It is not that portable, it's too big and too heavy... The screen glossy and it's almost impossible to work outdoors.

I clean this fan once in 2 weeks (The dust in between) or otherwise my machine will just die.. It gets very very hot if you don't do it.

I purchase "Legs" for my G550 which made it a lot cooler.. you should try.

Now I just leave this beast at home.. Impossible to be portable. BEAST

  • @BluesDepartmen i just use a Cooler Master U2 cooler

  • my friend your video was vrey priceless to me! I cleaned my acer and today i saw a very big difference!

  • Holy jezz whos kid is that? at first she was annoying but after th wala she got adorable.

  • @PWNTHEOWNER48 SHE is my daughter. she is 4 now. she was 3 in this video. yes she is loud, and yes she causes me to do a LOT of editing and repeating myself to get her out of the background and sometimes I can't get rid of her completely (out of the video). this was one of those videos. like right now, she is grouchy and there is NO WAY I could record without people complaining. I do have a playlist on my channel with videos of her.

  • i have a compac laptop and the screws are not the same but my fan is not workin and i dnt kno anything about laptops lol help me please

  • @wwjoshdew as for upgrading your wifi card.. be careful.. old(ish) IBM/Lenovo laptops had BIOS locks for the HDD and Wifi card. in other words: if you put in a non-Lenovo approved HDD or WiFi card, it would give you an error at the BIOS screen every time you turn it on, and on some models, even refuse to start entirely (can't skip the error msg.) :(

i went through that crap when i wanted to upgrade my bro's IBM/Lenovo (from just a while after Lenovo bought IBM ; can't remember the laptop model)

  • @Knaeckebrotsaege well I won't have this thing forever. I want a asus netbook (or a asus eee pad transformer) and a 27 inch iMac to ONLY edit videos on.

  • @wwjoshdew to be honest.. forget about netbooks and get a proper subnotebook (12"-13.3") instead.

i've dealt with so many of these netbook thingys.. they just don't cut it

i mean.. sure.. the battery lasts 6+ hours.. but you can't even watch YT properly (lack of CPU power and hardware video acceleration.. dem features cost munneh) plus the screen resolutions are usually pathetic.

i turned my own netbook into a homeserver (with 8hour battery backup lol) cause it's too slow for anything else :(

  • @Knaeckebrotsaege yeah, but ASUS makes a dual core netbook that seems pretty cool

  • To add to the hundreds but thank you so much! My laptop suddenly started crashing, I didn't know what to do, found this video and so far (fingers crossed) everything is so much better! Even though I know my kit, I've never taken the back of my laptop off before so I was pretty scared. Your instructions helped with the whole process. I watched, memorised, did the whole thing and yuck! So much dust! No wonder everything was overheating!

  • @goodnessgriefness yeah, its been about 3 months or more since I did it last. I need to do it again. At least it's so stinkin easy to get to! On HP laptops, you have to VOID your warranty and take apart the whole thing to get to the motherboard. Then you can clean it. My dad had a Toshiba and it was pretty much the same way.

  • @wwjoshdew I was amazed! Once I had success I watched the HP fan song vid and was horrified!

Oh, my fan doesn't have those four screws on the casing so that was an adventure! It was just molded stuff that looked like it would snap if I forced it. A fine, dry and soft paintbrush did wonders.

A friend of mine always advises Lenovo as a purchase because you can unscrew everything so easily and now I have experienced why! I might even explore upgrading it too!

  • @goodnessgriefness WHY NOT! Mine has 1033mhz ddr3 ram and I am very tempted to put two 2gb sticks of 1333mhz ddr3 ram which would be a little faster. I did a video on how to upgrade the hard drive, and the link should be in the description of this video!

  • @wwjoshdew Asus isn't any better.. you have to void your warranty to get to the pathetic heatsinks and clean them (2 reasons why they run hot)

same shit on their netbooks.. you have to remove the keyboard, top assembly, then get the whole friggin motherboard out (fan is below the board), remove the heatsink from the board to get the fan off just to clean it..

    epic fail..

jayme gutierrez prolly could replace his HP with an Asus in his clean the fan vid without changing anything in the vid lol

  • @Knaeckebrotsaege lol, that's FUNNY! But very true! I guess they expect you to send it into warranty and when it expires, they hope that it dies so that you have to buy a new one.

  • how do i defrag man?

  • @locotelos download "defraggler" and install it. Then run it.

  • so i got a question man my laptop started acting slow everytime i play a song the sound sounds like if i was listening to chopped and screwed do u know what could be the problem ima clean the fan because it also gets hot quick

  • @locotelos I would try that. Defrag your computer with "Defraggler". I really like it. And try to use VLC Media Player for music. It uses very little ram and resources and I find it awesome.

  • @wwjoshdew how do i defrag it bro does it earase my date?

  • @locotelos no. and if you haven't defragged, oh boy is it gonna be bad for you

  • Thanks so much man, my fan honestly is on from the second i turn it on until it goes off again xD Much better now :) thanks again

  • @TheCheat2011 your comment made me smile! I showed it to my dad (I was visiting him) and I showed it to my wife... (When I got the email on my phone, before I could approve it and reply) I truly appreciate people like you so much.

  • @wwjoshdew Wow glad you're happy :D I think you have earned all these nice comment's for helping people with their laptop problem's :)

  • @TheCheat2011 thank you buddy!

  • Thanks :)

  • @butrak Your welcome! I had no idea so many people were going to watch this video!

  • I'm surprised your little screaming kid in the background didn't "dislike" this video. Haha thanks, this was very helpful

  • @LoveRoss01 she was being silly. not really screaming. she is just LOUD natured... i have no idea who she gets it from.

  • @wwjoshdew Haha yeah, thats how I was when I was young! No stopping them! Great vid BTW, I'm going to clean mine tomorrow, it's getting a bit noisy and is probably filled with dust. Do you recommend using a low powered vacuum cleaner for any of the cleaning? Or just compressed air?

  • @LoveRoss01 uh. I just picked out the big stuff and blew the rest.

  • WHAT SCREW DO U USE?

  • @tutouch just a small phillips man

  • Hey your daughter in the background only adds to the reality of your workplace and integrity for wanting to help others. Your vids have helped 1000s of people. Kudos on another job well done!

  • @eliotno3 most people hate it! :(

  • Hey maybe you can help me out.. I have a problem with my G550... is it okay to send you a private message??? Thanks

  • @Crying8Angel8 yeah, you can send me a message if it's something personal.

  • This video was very helpful. I didn't need to clean the fan, but I needed to take the HDD panel off, and the clips made me think it was stuck(dell and HP don't have clips on the sides of panels!) but watching this video, I realized there were clips on the side of the panel, decided to force it, and the panel opened with zero damage. Thanks a lot!

  • @Ohzie you are VERY WELCOME! I am very happy that it helped you out!

  • nice bro

  • @SUPERramanvirk thank you so much man!

  • Great video - thanks.

  • @waylaid1 really? Thank you!

  • I wasn't quoting. It was a joke. -_-

  • @skatepyro ok. are you the same person that on the fuckbiz website?

  • @wwjoshdew No.

  • @skatepyro ok. because he said the same thing you said. my bad.

  • SHUT UP BABY IM MAKING A YOUTUBE VIDEO. :D

  • @skatepyro i didn't say that. What are you talking about? I wouldn't tell my daughter to shut up. be quiet or something. but shut up... that's wrong.

  • @wwjoshdew baby get back to kitchen. :D

  • @harka12 I don't get it. Usually people say that to females out of disrespect but this video has nothing to do with a kitchen. i watched it again and my daughter is being loud, yes. But she is not old enough to cook. I was debating on approving your comment. but maybe you weren't being mean.

  • Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!!!!! Spic and span :D

  • @jaymegutierrez thanks! Your a legend man! I freaking Legend!

  • @jaymegutierrez A WHOLE lot easier than what you went through with that HP! Is it not? #LOL
