  • If I had to play q3 on damn tablet, I'd shoot myself.

  • So i should buy an expensive tablet, laptop, console and cellphone when my PC can do pretty much everything all that fancy tech can do better than any cellphone, tablet, console and some laptops. Cellphones, tablets and consoles are extremely closed of systems which in the long run is not good for the end users nor software innovation.

  • @Abon666 One of the reasons i still use a desktop PC (laptops are PCs too) is that they are much more reliable than a laptop and i can change the hardware on it making my wallet much happier than if i would have been forced to buy a new laptop every three years or so.

Speaking of cloud computing, it's a giant joke. Cloud computing is just a way for corporations to limit what we can do with our software and enforcing EULAs in countries where EULAs are not legally binding (like my country)

  • @Abon666 Why should i store all my files on a server somewhere and be limited to what i can do with them when i can store them on a harddrive, a USB or a CD and don't have corporations saying "No you can't do that because we say so" when itś perfectly legal for me to do it. I don't want a corporation to have the novel i am working on and the hobby programs i am writing stored on their server but unavailable to me.

  • @Abon666 I have no problems storing stuff on servicec like dropbox so my friends and colliges can access stuff we are working on or stuff i want to share with them but i don't want everything little file on my PC stored on some corporations server somewhere because corporations have a tendency to screw us consumers over.

  • @Abon666 i usually like what you do on this show Bob but this is just bad. Why would i spend a truckload of money on a tablet, a console and a cellphone when my PC costs less and can do more than they can?

  • @Abon666 You can't ignore the fact that in order to have a capable pc you need to spend a hefty amount of cash...if you are into PC Gaming that is...not everyone has that...and consoles are often cheaper than a gaming pc.

  • @ NoCountryful

    Someone is missing the point

  • @GameBubbles The point being?

  • k, to put it simple, why I use only PC? : PRICE!!!

    1) I don't have TV; cellphone; consoles and other tech crap

    2) I can do everything on one computer: play games, study, watch movies, work.

    3) I own a laptop - portable, light. Have graphics and memory superior to any console.

4)do not take so much space as your think; picture how much dust or room takes all your tech, and how much space takes only my laptop?

    5) If it is not a laptop, I would vote for PC (not Mac) - customisable and cheap.

  • I know from experience of owning one that tablets are just plain gimmicks that are actually harder to use and less rewarding, They would need to change how fast the human hand can move before they become viable long lasting things.

  • if you want to play games at 720p and 30fps on a console than be my guest. i'd prefer to stick with the 1080p and 60+fps i get from my pc. there are, however, exceptions, like most 3rd person fighters and some classics that i'd rather play on the console. So mainly what it comes down to is: do you want awesome graphics that can blow you away (at a higher price), then buy a pc. If you on the other hand can settle with ok graphics, then buy a console.

  • All i have to say is minecraft

  • @GravityCat1000 Coming to Xbox

  • I disagree, my proof is Steam. It is the last haven for hardcore PC gaming and will stay that way for a long time.

  • Yeah this should be interesting, but it seems more like you ask for attention than start to reflex debate...PC gaming is dead...yeah sure...If you mean than every new game has 99% chance of being a rip off- I mean...following a genre that already was launched yeah sure this means it's dead. If you mean it's technically dead because it's not worth to make pc games...well no...At the time were game had to be innovative (because there were pioneers) there was a terrible crisis for game industry...

  • RTS will never be playable on a console!

  • @unprofessionalvids Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, Warhammer: Battlemarch, and Halo Wars disagree.

  • @KAPTAINmORGANnWo4eva Wait Halo Wars? Playable? PAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @MANBYTHEWIRELESS I found it to be fine. And what about the other two? Have you ever tried them?

  • @KAPTAINmORGANnWo4eva Yeah I have. Red Alert has always played way better on PC and is where the dedicated community resides. Warhammer Battlemarch doesnt even deserve the title "game".

  • @MANBYTHEWIRELESS Why doesn't it? And I'm not disputing whether it plays better, because that's a matter of preference, but disputing that the whole genre is unplayable on a console.

  • @unprofessionalvids ever played a koei empires game?

  • @theruder9 You are taking the piss?

  • Explorer? Are you serious?

  • Saying its dead, isn't gonna move me to console.

Yeah console can do alot of the stuff a PC can do, but a PC, as of now, does everything better.

  • Well, i can't say you're wrong, you're pretty damn correct, but i'd like to point out something you didn't mention : Pirating softwares. See, while every console/tablet has the same capabilities of a PC nowadays, everything has to be paid. Buying the consoles then the games, and having free apps doesn't mean you get a free Tablet to go with it.

The "new" gaming is a "profitable" gaming, and people like me are already tired of it. Long live PC Gaming indeed, but especially the Free Gaming.

  • @NoctaMovies So you mean that we should NOT pay for the games that people have worked really hard to make and basically shit in their faces as the go bankrupt? What kind of asshole are you?

  • @texalm1

I mean that a large majority of games are overpriced, and i'd recommend many of us to start using pirate copies in order to force the "profitable" market to become a "fair" market. I have much respect for the game developpers, and they don't usually set the price ( unless it's an indy developper, in which case most people end up buying the product )

Should i go ahead and compare Minecraft and the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 or you understood what i really meant ?

  • @NoctaMovies That's because big companies can't lower the prices. They hire people, pay for transport and all that jazz. A indie developer can't make the prize higher because no one will buy it then. It's useless to compare big developers to indie developers. If you want a lower prize, wait for a few months and buy it used.

Also. "New" gaming is no different to "Old" gaming. The old games had ridiculous prizes as well. Actually, "New" gaming is now WAY cheaper. Games are now going free-to-play.

  • @texalm1

Wait, what are you saying ? Transport, shipping, all this is what made "Old" gaming expensive. But nowadays, PC games are mostly in legal downloading ( via Steam, for exemple ), and yet, the prices don't lower. However, it's still lower than most console games, that's for sure.

You know, free to play games are actually very decent ! League of Legends and Team Fortress 2 ( yes, it was P2P before ) are good exemples of great F2P games, but the quality rarely match thoses.

  • @texalm1

My point really is : To have quality, the market wants you to spend a lot. But if I can have the quality without spending much, why wouldn't I do it ? I feel like it's unfair to spend hundreds of Euros on games when i can download them. Something needs to be done to balance Overly Expensive games and Free Pirated Copies, don't you agree ?

There's definitly some kind of "new" market for PC that could make buying games viable. For the time being, i'm stuck with pirate copies ;)
