I agree with the others I think you could got out. You almost made it that one time rock the wheels, turn the steerin wheel more speed what ever it takes.
i think you could have gotten yourself out of there with a little more throttle and turning your wheel left and right over and over. but good try for just starting out, the mods will come.
Ha ha, yup a little experience will get you outta all sorts of situations. A little more of a run and some better rocking and you'd have been fine. Don't let the catalogs fool you. Stock or not....it's a Jeep.
Love to see a fellow YJ getting out there. You may have gotten stuck, but it wasn't in a mall parking lot.
i have the same car and even stock the are able to do crazy things . you need to just to hit a little harder and faster while rocking back and forth (steering staight). you could have made it .. but having fun is all that matter ...
cheap mod are in the junk yard i got a set of 31's off a pathfinder like new and a 2 inch body lift of a recked yj and a new leaf spring all for 140 bucks. go to your local yard and find you some bigger tires for cheap for starters 31s cost me like 20 a tire
oh comeon man! ive gotten in mudholes twice as deep with my stock yj and didnt get stuck. you should have just rocked it or kept going forward. once you hit it in reverse and floored it you fucked yourself lol
You could have made it. Here's what you did wrong. First, when you start spinning and not moving ... stop. You dug holes. You got stuck in the holes you dug. Second, sawing on the wheel left to right is not helping in this situation with those tires. Stay in the ruts. Rock the Jeep, move forward, when it stops back up and go again. You could have made it.

Lacking a little meat on those tires but what the hell!!!

a little air out of the tires and your fine.
i like your attitude though. i dont care about getting stuck as long as theres someone around to haul me out.
the point of a jeep is to just get out there like you said.

I could have got it out. I would have loved to jumped in the driver seat right about where he gave up.
